Player Suggestion Abel Hernandez

If he could be sensible with a signing on fee, this is do able.

Strikes me as the “type” we need. Unsure if he ticks the “of good character” box so essential to the gaffer.

Sounds like wilder got the two owners to a hooker and coke party. Must have some right shit on them

Apparently Wilder has spoken to him and was willing to make him our top earner. Don't know how much interest there was on the player's part, but then Leeds came in and offered him silly wages that we can't compete with

Not entirely sure he's fully recovered from his injury problems yet might be wrong though

He's available on a free again after being released early from his CSKA Moscow contract.

From what I can see he had injuries which limited his appearances, but nothing too serious.

Worth a look?

You won't get many better free agent strikers, that's for sure.

Not for me. Too inconsistent, doesn’t score enough goals.
Wilder has this canny knack of bringing the best out of already decent to good players, for me this would be a no brainer signing, Wilder obviously has to like the look of him.

What odds the lad in the other thread who’d heard Javier Hernandez was on his way had actually been told about the wrong Hernandez. I wonder.

What type of player is Abel, Ricky? Any chance we could go for him instead of McBurnie if we end up having to commit too much to get Maupay, or totally different player?

He's about 6 foot but is probably more of a Maupay type if anything. More about pace and trickery.

The one and only bit of ITK info I have ever had was last season when Leeds were in for him and someone told me he asked them for nearly 100k a week to which they immediately told him to fuck off.

Obviously we wouldn't touch him on those wages but he was a quality player for Hull on his day and if any previous reports were true about our interest last season Wilder will probably be monitoring him. His stock has gone down due to having a few injuries in the last couple of years which might make him available at a slightly less ridiculous rate (especially if he's keen to get another crack at the Premier League and get his International career back on track).

If he came for the right price on a trial basis to see if his injuries aren't too long term I'd 100% be in favour of a move.

If his wage demands aren’t ridiculous and he’s got rid of the nigglings injuries he seems to have had, he’d be worth a gamble.

He’s quick, strong and a powerful runner. Add his explosive shots with his left peg, then I’d say he’d be worth a look at until the end of the season at least.

He does but even Wilder needs a player with desire and a reference point for ability first. Aside from the odd flash, I fail to see what this player has ever done in the PL on a consistent basis. Been around a while now. I would rather take a punt on someone hungry that hasn’t had the chance yet, like two of the three we’ve already signed.

Not enthused by this suggestion. It’s the kind of signing your QPR’s and Cardiff’s make right before getting relegated again.

Fair enough, I respect that but I do think the lad has natural talent which if managed correctly could be a huge benefit to us, especially for a free transfer, albeit on a decent wage.
