Ok, it's very early days but the improvement in this player so far this season has to be applauded. I admit I was one of those that were on his back a bit and wishing him to find employment elsewhere, but so far this season I am happy to eat a huge slice of that Humble Pie. Well done Neill, keep it up!!

Do you mean Neill "Beckenbauer" Collins? :D

I agree, think he's doing really well so far this season. He's talking Maguire through every game and playing the experienced head in a young defence very well. Let's hope he keeps it up!

Credit has to go to Wilson for that, he's really boosted his confidence, which we will agree, was rock bottom at the end of last season.

1st were in league 1 and 2nd we haven't played anyone yet i will wait and see.

1st - yes, we're in League 1, so we need players good at League 1. He showed this for Leeds, and he's shown it for us thus far.

2nd - I'm sick of hearing this particular point. We've played teams in 5th, 7th and 10th. None of our opponents are currently in the bottom four. And the reason that all of those clubs aren't higher than their current positions is that we beat 4 of them and drew with the other!

Totally agree Muttley, Collins is probably the first name on the teamsheet at the moment. I thought he was just a big lump that made loads of mistakes but he's been a revelation this season with his partnership with young Harry coupled with towering headers and general willingness to bring the ball out of defence.

Maybe it's purely down to having time to develop an understanding of the system and the team.

The previous two spells he's been with us he's come into a crisis and been thrown in at the deep end. Plenty of time for him to make some mistakes again but I'm really glad he's turned it around.

Is there anyone in this division? Of the main threats at the start of the season on Charlton are actually above us. Provided we keep the team together and dont have too many injuries (which cost us last year) then we have no one to fear in the slightest. Now altogether now
OH WE AINT GOT A BARREL OF MONEY

For quite a while after Sean Murphy was signed by Adrian Heath in 1999 there were many fans wanting him out. It wasn't until

early 2000 after NW's arrival that the criticism started to to subside and it was much later that he became "Murphenbauer".

It's far too early for your suggestion above to be adopted.

Best point on this thread.

The whole defense looks more confident without that car crash Nosworthy to screw things up every 5 minutes.

We shouldn't dish out the 'enbauers willy nilly. Murphy's the only one for me.

If you look at the table you'll see we've actually played 5 games, therefore we've played 5 different opposing teams, and we've not lost one. We can only play who the fixture list tells us to - we can't pick and choose. When will you wait until? If you wait til the end of the season that will give you an idea of where we will be next season.

No need for thanks, it's all part of the service.

So be it swiss but he does look totally different this year. Maguire will learn a lot from him

Now I know that you're having a laugh!

I'm sure that this is just one massive forum wind up for people like me who haven't seen us play yet this season! Even Radio Sheffield are in on this wind up.

Well I've got news for you lot, I'll be at the lane to watch the ridiculous Collins on Saturday and i'll be coming on here to expose your little game

You won't catch me on this one! :)

Coming round to collect your Neil "Beckenbauer" Collins t-shirt tonight or tomorrow Swiss?

Collins looked really good today. Perhaps Swiss will stop sticking pins in the Collins voodoo doll, as it's not working this season.

Collins was outstanding today. Genuinely outstanding. But then, so were the rest of the team for the most part. The defence was so much better than Bury's attackers it really did look like men against boys.

Tucking in now - Collins was truly outstanding, Doyle excellent. We still lack pace though!

Pace up front and cover in defence look like the final pieces in the jigsaw. And I'd like a new goalie too, but maybe I'm being greedy. :)
