I thought that I saw Kevin Blackwell next to Pardew watching Palace on MOTD last night. Is this a possible new partnership in the making? Or have I:

Missed something?
Forgot my appointment at Specsavers?

Thanks for putting me right Matt. You've saved me the expense of new glasses, rose tinted specs are so expensive these days

Perhaps it could help both Mr Clough and the players , if someone came to the blades to help him . His he the coach or manager , he cannot do both . Perhaps a bit of a shake up , new coaching ideas , training methods , would be like buying a set of new players.

UTB

I thought it was Blackwell next to Pardew too, it's tempting to be critical of Blackwell's time at the Lane, Keith Gillespie's book makes him sound like a complete tool but it's also worth recalling that great season he put together when we looked unbeatable. I remember going to Reading away and seeing us win against the favourites, putting on the most one sided play-off semi performance against PNE and who knows what would have happened had he not started Craig Beattie at Wem-ber-lee?

Anyway I wish him well.

Agreed, was it Blackwell that brought in Walker to replace Sunjihai as well? He was sacked in very odd circumstances, 2 games into a season losing to favourites QPR after we almost beat Cardiff at their place with 10 men. There were the only times (albeit few and far between) Billy Sharp looked ok in a blades shirt under Blackwell also.

He brought in Naughton to replace Sun Jihai, and that was because he had to after Jihai did that lunging tackle for a redcard, against I think Coventry?? When we had no other right backs. Walker got brought in after Gary Naysmith got injured away at Burnley, one of last few games of season.

It was 3 games. We were outplayed and humiliated by Hartlepool in the League Cup.

The former non-league, semi-professional reserve buffoon should have been publicly sacked (and tarred and feathered) after his Wembley surrender.

Agree Pinchy he should have been shown the door after the play off defeat , rather than having us been shown up by
uncle Col in first match of season. Must admit didn't think the lad From Arsenal would turn into a decent player ,
Let's get Carver back he's got a 100% record as a Blades manager , and Preston are up soon .

Ok 3 games, still harsh in my view, we were crap at Wembley though could have had 2 pens on another day, and his interview afterwards was excruciating, but I still don't get the hatred for him on here. We narrowly missed out on automatic promotion back to the Prem that year.

I'd swap where we are now for a championship play off final however gutless
