This is in General Blades Chat as it is an open invite to all.

For a few years, this lot have been intermittently meeting on a Sunday morning to have a friendly, non-competitive game of football. It started as a way to keep in touch through the close season and carried on :)

All age-ranges and abilities are welcome (even I've turned out before :D). The cost of the pitches are shared equally between those playing and now that the weather's getting a bit better, a few people have mentioned about trying to get the games going again.

Goals used to be the venue of choice, but they've forced their prices up too high (almost £40!) so we've investigated other pitches. Through work, I've been in touch with Goodwin Sports Centre and their 3g, 5-a-side pitches cost £25 on a Sunday.

So, if anyone is free this coming Sunday morning and fancies a game, this is what you need to know:

Venue: Goodwin Sports Centre, Sheffield
Time: 10:30
Cost: £25 shared equally between players
What you need: Trainers or astro-turf boots. No studs. Shinpads optional. A sense of humour.

Guests are welcome.

Please yay or nay for definite by Saturday night so Foxy can let everyone know in enough time if the numbers are looking good enough to get a game on.

RSVP by replying to this thread or emailing [email protected]

I'm a yes - No Sunday football this weekend.

I'll let you know. It depends on if I play football on Saturday or not.

Foxy's received a "yes" via email too so that's five (potentially six).

Just to add another into the mix... my brother says he'll play so that's six definites, an almost certain yes and a depends :)

We just might get a game on this weekend!

It's Northumberland Road, S10 2TY.

Not far from the Childrens Hospital.

Don't know if they still do, but the pigs used to use their facilities, much to their annoyance when we saw them there :D

We've about got enough to play if everyone is still up for it. Let me know ASAP!

I can make it now. I'll be fragile but seeing as that affliction doesn't affect Foxy's game I'll turn up ;)

I'm in sheffield this weekend. Would be worth playing just to see the phoenix rising. Will let you know for sure tomorrow.

More like a beached Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Well we're definately on as I've booked the pitch, so if people can be there *BEFORE* 10.30am (Goodwin are probably busier and stricter on booking times than Goals).

I've already paid £27 on my card, so we'll share that between those who go.

Any problems or questions let me know!

sorry guys, knee injury but i will pop up for "immoral" support and to check out the ability for future reference :)
also putting faces to names will be kinda cool.
tally ho!

As it's a new venue and there are potentially a few new people we might not recognise... We're booked on Pitch 1 if you can't find anyone!

Cheers for turning up people, and whoever came to watch! - Seeing as I didn't stray far enough up the pitch to find out who you were! :)

What did people think to the facilities/getting there? worth moving there from Goals?

ok was intresting to watch you fookers (well some of you ;) ) running your cobblers off :)
now i think i got a handle on four of you guys.
keenzy i was introduced too, let me just say here and now if ched had the luck of the ball keenzy had with it bouncing every fooking time in a 50/50 to his feet, even ched would have 40 goals this season already.
Silverfox, well what can i say a cultured footballer, conserving his "bursts" for when needed, used the ball well, picked out a few nice thru balls, very impressive.
ok now i move into conjecture i believe the guy in the (sorry if im right) slightly gay and worrying grey and green blades shirt i believe was foxy, moved well, passed well, shot a lil erratically, "sledged" the other side well and at every opportunity a nice captains role :).
not sure bout jordan but i believe the guy in the Inter Milan kit (looking tho not playing like lionel messi) was i think Mousey, really mousey Inter? decent playerfast on attack, slow as a whale omlette to get back to defend, decent shot tho little nesh going into tackles, but considering two guys with busted ankles (LOL) its understandable.
I'd like to appologise to the other guys for not knowing them but as i wasnt actually playing this time, just ball boy duty ;) i figured id let you guys play on without interupting you.
should be fit to play in next coupla weeks so thanks guys for a very entertaining sunday morning.

Haha, I'm fairly happy with that one :D, Wasn't me though.

What about the silky skills of that spritely looking kid in the yellow Chengdu Blades shirt, I thought he had blistering pace. For a 30 year old he didn't do too bad!

Not ringing any bells...

Is that the one that blocked a thunderbolt from his own teammate, clearly destined for the back of the net, with his ankle? :D

Yeah it was me in the Inter top. I blame my sluggish tracking back on a sizeable hangover :D
