Young team tonight at Belper.

From the OS...............

A young United Reserves side are in pre-season action against Belper in Derbyshire on Thursday night.

The friendly at Belper's Christchurch Meadow ground on the northern outskirts of the Derbyshire market town kicks off at 7.30pm.

United look set to pair French striker Christian Nade with promising forward Jordan Robertson in attack, whilst defenders Travis Binnion, Adam Chapman and Ryan Cresswell will also get valuable match action under their belts.

Belper, known as 'The Nailers', are members of the Unibond League Division One.

The Blades team to travel to Belper is... Annerson, Binnion, Horwood, Chapman, Cresswell, Walker, Boden, Kerry, Nade, Robertson, Donnelly. Subs to announced.

Robertson and Nade up front again? I hope Nade has a good game and gets himself on the score sheet this time :)

Nice to see Scott Boden in the squad too!

Belper Town 0-4 Sheffield United

After a leisurely drive through Matlock Bath and a wee wee stop for Tommy in Cromford we arrived quite early and parked up beside the River Derwent in Belper.

Tommy replenished his wallet from the machine in the wall - it was his turn to look after daddy, we then managed to find The George Hotel very close to the ground to sample a pint.

After listening to the weird conversations of the locals for a while, we eventually managed to get on the pool table where daddy beat Tommy 4-2.

We managed to get a good seat in the main stand, it was easy really as the crowd was pretty small, and settled down to watch the match.

Belper seem to have done a great job as the ground has been flooded recently and the pitch looked really nice.

United started very well pushing forward on the right and Robertson turned the defender really well before the ball fell to Lloyd Kerry on the edge of the box and he hit a low drive into the corner to give The Blades an early lead.

The Blades looked very comfortable and dominated the Belper team with some neat passing. Some great work on the left from Donnerly with him finding Robertson at the far post with a deep cross brought the second goal as Robertson headed an easy goal.

The 3rd goal came from a shot from Horwood after some determined work from Nade in the box.

The second half was more even although United never looked in trouble with Ryan Cresswell strong at the back as he'd been all night.

There was a funny moment as one of the substitutes for Belper came on in a different shirt than the rest of their team although the referee didn't seem to mind.

The final goal came as Robertson broke free on the left and placed the ball comfortably past the advancing keeper to make it 4-0 on the night.

We were very impressed with Lloyd Kerry who was easily the man of the match and strong performances from Jordan Robertson and Ryan Cresswell.

Swinton's own Ryan Cresswell:) Nice to know that he played well.

I was quite impressed with him tonight.

He had his family there for support too!

:)
He has always impressed me whenever i have seen him. Miles better than anyone i know.

If id have known he was playing tonight it might have tried to make it to the match.

Let's hope he can develop in to a good center back for us.
