Femi Seriki - Why not try him in attack?

If its not broke don't fix it! Seriki and Brooks have mostly been great specilly working together. I would not drop or change Seriki's role or pick Hoever unless Seriiki is injured, needs a rest, suffers a loss of form or needs to be rotated to save his energy levels.

Disgraceful defending on Derby's goal yesterday, completely switched off and didn't look interested which sums up his defensive performances recently.
If he's still with us next season it needs to be as a RW.
I think he just switches off occasionally. Some of his positioning is naive at times and his pace and physicality get him out of jail. It's noticeable in home games how much Wilder has to shout instructions to him.

Hoever is a quality player, physically decent and skilfull.

Hasn't been given many opportunities to impress and he made a couple of cock ups during his limited minutes

Not sure why he didn't get more of a chance to impress but would definitely re sign him on loan again for next season especially if Brooksy and/or Sereeks are moving on.

I couldn't watch last night thanks to another power cut (that and falling asleep before the 11pm kick-off). Am I right in thinking that Seriki played on the right wing (or wing-back) when he came on?
And if so, does him in front of Hamza look like a viable combination?

He did, and did fine, but limited minutes in a game where you’re 1-0 up doesn’t reveal much.

I still think Hamza is too rash to play RB long term.

Our best eleven doesn’t include Choudhury. He should be a deputy for Phillips, nothing more.
Maybe, maybe not, but Hamza was steady last night and in my opinion, never let's us down wherever he plays.
As far as I'm concerned all players start with a clean sheet regardless of previous performances, but unfortunately some think - "he's crap, so he's gonna be crap this game too".
(My last observation wasn't any reference to your post btw)

Serki, like Bogle, has his success running into space provided by someone Infront of him pushing back the defenders a lot of the time or running at defenders from deep.

Not sure why we would want to lose that. It's his, and one of our stronger attacking outlets

Hamza was fine last night albeit against a poor team. Put a decent winger against him such as McQueen at Pompey and he's awful.

This is the main issue for me. He dives into tackles far too high up the pitch and when he gets it wrong (often) there’s suddenly acres of space behind him.

Yup, it’s remarkable given how solid he was in his previous stint. He was my MotM as a right back at Wembley, but this season he plays the position like an excited spaniel.

Wilder wants to give hamza a new contract..but in regards to seriki he says he has to earn it..he,s far more deserving than hamza of a new deal..what has hamza done to earn it??...give hamza rest of season to earn it..just seems like favouritism to me.

I thought Seriki did ok, but looked a bit fish out of water at times last night, tbh.

A couple of times he got dragged into tracking Choudhury’s man, as he usually would. And there were at least two occasions where he looked uncertain as to where he should be, pointing into space while looking to Widz for instruction or being hollered at by him from the touchline.

Lad’s played and trained for years at RB. Changing positions and roles on the fly isn’t as straightforward as sometimes assumed.

What's this favouritism thing?
Managers don't have favourites, they either rate players or they don't. Players are either in form or not.
It's not as though they like players cos their nice polite lads or summat, they are blinkered with issues of form, fitness, attitude etc, and that's it.
