Aye, I was in the IN camp when the other poll was created.

Wanted to change but couldn’t, performances have been basically garbage all season but at least results were OK, but Fleetwood was just pathetically bad.

He refuses to accept any responsibility for the performances or indeed recognise that the reason the performances look like a bunch of over 50s playing walking football is because we’re basically one step away from having a team assembled entirely of geriatric cart horses.

I’m not particularly keen on Wilder MK3, but I realise that we don’t have much choice at the moment and that our owners have shown themselves inept when it comes to replacing both Wilder and then Selles.

The chances of them getting the next one right are fairly slim and we’ve all seen what happens when the players down tools and refuse to play for a manager.

For all his faults, some of the players appear to like him. The likes of Peck, Arblaster, Cooper, Tanganga, Rothwell, BBD, Choudhury & Bamford seem to respect him. If they all of a sudden started playing even worse than they are at present, we’d be a relegation certainty.

One who doesn't rely on his repeated and now boring Sheffield back stories which no longer cover for his repeated failures but intended make the listeners feel all nostalgic and warm. That's failed too.

Yeah, it'll be a challenge, but something dramatic needs to change to kick start the future without Chris.

He was once a Premier league manager. He's nowhere near it now and has enough high moments to leave with some level of grace.

Hopefully that is facilitated before he loses what little current credibility he still has or the fans turn on each other.

He knows how this plays out with our fan base. It doesn’t have to end that badly.

This thread , along with so many others is an great example of why supporters shouldn't own or run football clubs .

I'm not a wilder fan , always had misgivings even in the good times but even I have to admit its been a less than ideal start to the season .
Comings and goings on the last day of the TW , a few key early injuries and not really having the full squad together or available from day 1 .
Even for a someone whose never really been fully convinced by CW , the bloke has had some challenges the season already , give him chance to work it out .

I think the common thread in the incoming signings is that even the free transfers are short term (with contracts expiring in the summer). Whilst it’s no doubt been a stated approach to bring in more experience, I suspect that it’s far easier to get older players / those with sketchy injury records to agree to a one year or short term deal.

I don’t think anyone is blind to Wilders faults or that his powers have diminished somewhat. But it’s a bad decision if you acknowledge the context of potting the manager who is effectively acting as a sticking plaster on all manner of fronts whilst the club off the field appears a shambles (to put in mildly).

I agree with many on here who point to our poor record in the transfer market, our appalling fitness and injury record, and the turgid monotonous football that we play these days, with a squad full of old crocks - and feel that its time for a competently appointed manager, who is not recommended to our board by a poker scammer that looks like Danny DeVito playing a role as a a man who causes havoc in a small town by sniffing all the local women's underwear on their washing lines.

But that's where I struggle - because I have no faith that our board is even remotely capable of competently appointing someone... competent.

And its not just Wilder that needs to go, most of the coaching, fitness, scouting and recruitment team are either woefully ineffective, or downright incompetent - and can you see these bald-face, American shysters being willing and able to oversee, fund and undertake that kind of change? Not while they are still trying to get out of paying the agreed price for the club they wont!

So yes, Wilder - once arguably our greatest ever manager, has now become pretty crap... and in an ideal world needs to go, but when he goes I think they'll just appoint someone who is not capable, supported by a structure not fit for purpose, and we'll be left in a right old mess.

We had since March to plan for this season when we knew we weren't going up or down, and have still started undercooked and a million miles away from being ready. We won't be able to plan for a new manager seeing as the man with the finger in all the pies and decision maker is the person who will be replaced.
