I agree with the points made - chiefly, we are signing players who are eager to prove themselves but whose egos won't be above their station, if we were to go down and then strive for promotion again at the first attempt - championship football isn't above their egos.
Great business, IMO. Contrast that with the Villa approach - big money on people that aren't proven but haven't got a consistent history of championship level football - that's an expensive gamble.
