OK, a good win at Norwich, we bank the three points and move on. No throwing shirts into the crowd like those tossers at S6. Just another day at the office for The Blades.

Not much to report since ‘Memries of Preston’ on December 11th 2007 – just one meeting in fact.

Our most recent meeting came on 16th December, 2017 in a Championship game at Deepdale. This resulted in a narrow 0-1 defeat for the Blades:

The return league fixture is currently scheduled for Saturday April 28th 2018 at Bramall Lane at 15.00 – the penultimate game of this season.

Meetings between The Blades and Preston date all the way back to 20th November, 1893. Recent-ish results:

Full list

To date, our League results against Preston read:

Home: P: 51 W: 34 D: 10 L: 7 F: 94 A: 46

Away: P: 52 W: 11 D: 16 L: 25 F: 56 A: 90

FA Cup meetings between the teams:

Home: P: 3 W: 2 D: 0 L: 1 F: 5 A: 4

Away: P: 4 W: 0 D: 3 L: 1 F: 4 A: 5

Current form:

Including the (20th January) 1-1 home draw with Birmingham, Preston have only lost one league game in the last 13 (12 League and a 5-1 win at Wycombe Wanderers in the third round of the FA Cup), and sit in 11th place in The Championship with 42 points (United have 46 points).

However, draws in The Championship (12 in 28 games) have held them back:

Seems like we play Preston 4 times every season.

Can't believe we've only played them just over a hundred times.

The 3-3 draw when we were in with a very very slim chance of play off place ( poss 2004 ) about 40 of us from up our way getting shitfaced in Blackpool that weekend . Remember West Ham were at Wigan & Villa we’re playing nearby to ; made for a lively weekend at the seaside .
And the play off semi in 2009 good day out to ; never seen us win there always seemed to be they’d win at their gaff & we’d win at ours .
