Personally I think today sealed his fate. It was a truly pitiful end to a horrendous season and the fans very clearly made their feelings known towards the manager and the players (his players).

I really think today will have changed things quite considerably. Before today there was a great chance he'd be staying. After today, his position almost seems untenable.

So what will happen?

I think he will be gone yes.

I don't think it will make one jot of difference to next season though, we will still be shit.

No idea, could go either way really. The reaction at the end certainly should have sent a message to everyone at the club. I hope that the Board understand that the reaction wasn't aimed solely at the manager.
I couldn't make it but I don't regret not going. What were the players like? Clapping sarcastically? I heard Hammond wasn't there.

I'm not personally sure whether he should given another season or not but I think he will be gone by the end of the month

I think they will sack him, I'd give him another go personally but the pressure now to make a change is going to be irresistible to the board.

Today makes no difference. Would it have appeased some fans if we'd won 6-0? I couldn't give a shit. Failing to make the top 6 in this pathetic league is a disgrace and the manager will have to accept his exit.

Can't afford to sack him. If he walks then I'll understand, but the money needs to go on players, not compensation.

The idea of saying to some other poor fucker 'Welcome to Bramall Lane! There's no money and this lot will be on your back in 10 games if we don't see results'...makes my skin crawl.

In true Adkins style, the one positive for me is that even if Nige stays it's impossible for Hammond to now. He had an absolute stinker of a first half, his half time subbing was created with the biggest cheer of the day before he sealed his fate with a no show at the end.

I've just listened to the interview and he has to stop himself from openly slagging the fans off " we've had that since the start of the season against gillingham". No mention of how well we backed them all season, we appear to have upset his hero Hammond, and he doesn't like it, he can go for me now.... He's been an abject failure....

been slagging them off since first game.. that really takes the biscuit.. we lost four nil nigel.. hello??
And to be fair to us, when we won four on the bounce the atmosphere got a lot better.
We are a bunch of moaners but I am a bit pissed off that he doesn't understand why we are moaning.

the atmosphere improved enormously when billy looked like he gave a shit against Bradford.. the players have to give the fans something to cheer about.
anyway if WHF doesn't like people going then he can give us all a refund and we can stay at home

Remember we have inherited Mr Nigel Reading not Mr Nigel Southampton nee Scunthorpe.

It is great sadness that we have to sack another manager but have we a choice , especially when he starts having a go at the paying punters. Just not on or acceptable . Fuck him off.

Criticising the ones who turn up constantly, home and away and who have done before you arrived, whilst you're here and will still be when you're gone.

Bad move.

The only ones who deserve criticism who turn up constantly home and away... are the ones picked who wear our shirt (be fuckin' great to see it worn with a little pride, please)

This club, needs a shaking, it seems to me that the only ones who have the strength/foresight to do that, are those who turn up, week in, week out.

Time to fuckin' moan about the support when it's in four figures. Then let's see some endeavour.

I want him to go but dont think he will walk or we will sack him.
He spoke in the last interview about his intentions for next season.
If his reign ends i think it will be in the next couple of days.

If he's going it should be now, no assessing the situation, no giving him 2 games of next season then sacking him. Get rid immediately or stick with him til at least October (personally I'd have sacked him last October as it clearly wasn't working).

Anyone whether they be a fan, player, manager or director that slags our fans off after what we have had to put up with for all but about three of the last 50 seasons is a full weight CUNT !!!!!

completely spot on.

It's a difficult one, instinctively I don't think we should sack him, but then if we don't make a good start to next season the atmosphere will turn so toxic so quickly that he'll be gone in September leaving us right up the creek.

If true that the Prince is seeking this Ersun Yanal fella then NA's days are numbered, regardless of whether he gets his man or not

The mere notion that the board are actively seeking potential candidates must mean the decision has been made

He understands he just doesn't want us to do it. Not very reasonable of him of him of course.

Yes I think he will go and no matter how much I want us to stick with a manager for a change I cannot offer anything in his defence.

11th in League One with a comparatively strong squad is unacceptable for this football club. He has to go and so do any players we can possibly let go of. They're an absolute shower.

He's going nowhere, sorry to upset the knee-jerkists and professional angry-cos-they-care contingent.

He was never going to do well with the shite left by the last joker. He said as much in his first interview.

Anyone with half a brain gives him this summer and at least half of next season to continue the rebuild.

Sadly it's a minority....
