Dack will be dangerous. He loves to play in the pocket, and we have a fucking huge pocket! It's a banker for both teams to score this one.
 
We should be playing with confidence tomorrow, good performance against Walsall, good result, they are playing for a play off place, we aren't, all the pressure is on them, so another 2-0 home win and another win in a run up to the season end and a final position of 8th. And a confidence booster for nextseason, not had to many.............yet, Utb.

Id be tempted to have Baptiste man mark Dack.

He's their clear dangerman and Baptiste has the pace as well, assuming fit.

Gillingham turned down 2m from Bristol already. If he's going to leave then it's going to be for a higher level club I'd imagine.

Gillingham manager Justin Edinburgh does not see his side as the underdogs going into Saturday’s away game at Sheffield United.

Having beaten Walsall last Saturday, the Blades sit eighth in League One, eight points off the play-offs and nine behind the Gills.

“We wouldn’t count ourselves underdogs in any game from now until the end of the season,” said Edinburgh. “We’re fully aware of what Sheffield United are capable of and their quality (:rolleyes:), but we’ve got to go there with confidence.

“We’re undefeated in our last three away games, and we’ll take the same mentality and focus into the game.”

The Gills are likely to be backed by over 600 fans at the game (tickets are available at Bramall Lane on the day), and with the Blades attracting nearly 20,000 supporters to home fixtures, a good atmosphere is likely throughout.

Edinburgh added: “It’s good to go and play at big stadiums, although the players have been consistent throughout the season, no matter of who and where we’ve played.

“We’ll embrace that, I’m sure there will be a big crowd - these are the games that the players look forward to.”

Loan striker Dominic Samuel is likely to miss out after injuring his knee against Coventry City last Saturday.

“Dom went back to Reading, he had a scan on Monday, and the reports are good,” Edinburgh added. “The knee he injured was one he had an operation on eight or nine months ago, so we can understand why Reading are cautious.

“We hope that he’ll be back in training with us next week.”

That's an uneducated guess. Depends which United turn up on the day, really.
 
They are coming here confident but his comments betray that a bit.

Clearly it's a big thing for them coming to a big stadium and playing in front of a big crowd.

Hope we can take advantage of that.
 
I think this place for the play-offs malarkey is really fascinating. I am always amazed by the complete contrasts of optimism (we can still make it) and complete pessimism (we have nothing to play for).

I said in another thread a couple of weeks ago, Gillingham and Walsall are by no means guaranteed a play-off place yet. We are 9 behind Gillingham and 8 behind Walsall. We play Gillingham today, Walsall go to Oldham who are scrapping for their lives at the bottom (having taken 7 points from the last 9 with the draw being at Burton followed by wins against Chesterfield and Swindon). Gillingham then play Walsall on Tuesday. That is the big game for both of them. And both of them are hopeful of catching Burton.

So yeah we could be 15 points behind one of them come 9.45 on Tuesday with 5 to play; we could also easily be six or seven behind one of them. And that is totally ignoring the Barnsley and Bradford results. Optimism or pessimism?

I only went of the 'Gills site to see how many goals Dack has scored this season. This 'not afraid of playing in front of 20,000 crowd' story caught my eye. I was thinking 'Are they due to play at Wembley for some meaningless JPT-type trophy?' (Gillingham 'Ladies'? :D). Then I realised he was talking about us and todays match.

I think it's easy to take for granted our 'normal' home crowds and superb stadium, but the opposition certainly don't. Right. Fortress Bramall Lane starts today!
