I must confess that I haven't really followed Wilder's management career (apologies if it's been previously discussed on here) however a quick check of Google shows that he has a decent enough record.
Given that we employed someone who I was convinced was the best man available (Adkins) and have been proven horribly wrong.... Is Wilder a viable option or a hopeful punt??

I really can't take much more of the current man.

Adkins has a decent record

FFS.

Pep Guardiola wouldn't be able to get this shower of sh*te promoted. Sooner people realise it's the players letting us down the better.

Adkins hasn't covered himself in glory at all this season but give him time. And if we're talking managerial records and CVs, ours has the best in the division, surely.

With or Without the current board?

That is what would make the big difference..

Doubt he'd do much worse than the current incumbent.

Blame the players all you like, a large amount of them will still be here next season, including the shit ones Adkins has added, and Hammond will be back to be our midfield lynchpin too.

Rotten from top to bottom, struggling to think of anything good to say about the club at the moment.

Don't want Wilder. He's not experienced enough to manage a retard club like this
It would be grossly unfair on him and it will ruin a steadily progressing career. I hope for his own sake he doesn't come here

Why on earth would you want to switch from a side that can't lose, to the poisoned chalice that is Sheffield United, just because you're an ex-player? It's going to take more than a manager and some players to sort this crap out.

Yea and fill the squad with woolfords,Hammonds and Nosworthy's !!
Noooooo!

Nope, Adkins for me. The last thing we need right now is yet another change of manager.

We need to turn round an oil tanker not a bloody carousel, be brave, give it time
I believe that he has already made plans on signing some players for this summer, wouldnt surprise me if some have signed the pre-contracts. If this is true, it would be pointless in bringing a new manager in and he might not want the players that have already agreed to come to us

I'd take Wilder in a heart beat. I actually think the fact he is all Bladey would help him, the fans would rally round him. Plus the expectations are different now, he shouldn't be under any pressure to get promotion next season. I say "shouldn't", obviously with our crazy board you never know. If he had a few seasons i reckon he could turn this mess around.

But i have no idea why on earth he would leave his cushy job to pretty much command the titanic. After it's sunk.

Got to be clear now that Adkins has seemingly tried every permutation imaginable. He's given chances to everyone, he's given a couple of youths a shot, he's played multiple formations (sometimes in a single half), and every arrangement of 11 players looks as lacklustre as the previous.

And what have we given him since Murphy left? Hammond and Baptiste on loan. What in shitting crikey do we expect any manager to do with that?

Silent , don't tell me that these players are already on the books  this season . Welcome for the 2016 / 17 season Mr Collins , Wallace .

We should have listened to our current manager , at the start of the season , when he said this team wasn't good enough to go up , I for one ( holds his hand up ) thought it would be us and Wigan to walk the league , I would let him get rid of all the walking dead , at the end of the season. Then give him till Christmas, if after building his own team , he's not delivering what we , and he wants , we all may not like it , but sacking managers , is why where here , just in this league , Wilson , weir , Clough , now Adkins, come on .
I'm prepared to give him time , but fuck me my patience is wearing thin , UTB, and up the dubs .

If we are wanting to stick with Adkins just to see what happens next season then you may as well get rid now, next season will be no better, it may even be slightly worse, and that has nothing to do with the manager.

You say we should have listened to Adkins at the start of the season well we also should have listened to Phipps after the JTW shut when he says it will take at least two more Windows to sort out the squad.

The board have effectively written this season and the next one off already. And changing or keeping managers will have no effect on that.

Your avatar, has been the best manager in my time in supporting the Blades , don't listen to anything that mr Phipps has to say , on Twatter
Tongue in cheek bout listening to the manager at the start of the season , but when the fourth hit the net v's the pikeys, I think he thought he'd called it right ,
As I said with this team , I thought us and Wigan would walk it , think most of the fans have written of this season as well.
Sigh , as always UTB.

Nobody could manage these players. Half of them fancy Clough , the other half are terrible.
Do you really think footballers getting paid up to half a million pounds a year , go out on a football pitch with 18000 people watching and think Im not going to bother today as I preferred Nigel Clough ?
or is it more likely that they are
badly prepared ,poorly trained ,unclear on tactics ,messed about during the game and have no confidence.

I would say the second one of these and that is down to the manager. They could be managed ,but obviously not by the present car crash.

There are quite a few managers I'd look to before turning to another guy who's having his season in the sun in League Two. We tried that with Micky Adams. He was Bladey too. Northampton have had very good financial backing as well by the way.

That's a very lazy way out ,have you looked at the situation ,Northampton ,Oxford and Halifax were in before he took over ? All 3 were going to the wall ,he has kept them alive and then improved hugely on small resources. His progress has been gradual because he hasn't been given the big job yet. He hasn't done well at Southampton or failed at Reading because he hasn't had that job. Don't hold being a Blade against him ,really fucks me off that ,like its a crime.

The Chelsea players got Jose the sack as they didn't want him around so I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility that ours could be doing the same. There are clearly a lot of unhappy players in our squad. It seems very similar to when Micky Adams was here when he had a fair few players who didn't want to play for him.

Like the £10m loan from Northampton Council that went missing?

But they would play on game day ,that's the selfish bastards they were. They would be injured all week but fine on match day and tried to undermine the squad. Adams was like Adkins in that he wasn't strong enough ,either with players or tactics ,but they did try on matchday. I could name the players and will do later ,just see if nopigfansintown can ,as he worked at the club at the time I think.

The difference here is that 15 of ours are out of contract come season end.

they can all fuck off for me - can't bleedin defend for toffee.

We haven't had a single, decent centre half worth his salt since Morgs got injured 6 years ago.

I will go fuckin bonkers if Adkins doesn't sign two massive, big fuckers for central defence in the summer.

If we start next season with Brayford, Edgar (signed on a free cos he's cheap), Collo (cos we managed to re-sign him cheap) and McEv (ditto) then I seriously may decide not to bother going next season.

It makes me so mad to keep seeing the stupid, pathetic, school boy type, none concentrating errors from these bunch of over paid, under performing, supposedly professional footballers.......argh.......

Rant over
