Robson in or out?
I think he should go now, the team are playing worse probably than i've ever seen. Theres no passion, very few players look like they can cut it at this level never mind be challenging for a top spot this year. We're still making mistakes defensively, i don't think it needs wholsale changed because most of the back 4 have proven themselves capable of playing higher standard of football last year. The midfield needs to be changed, or infact actually be there instead of actually being able to play a ball straight through the middle of it.
And now i think is the best time, if any, to change. We have a fortnight to get in a new manager, get him working with the squad.
UTB keep the faith!

Keep him = He's doing a great job

So's Brian Laws :D

Not something I'd normally do - call for a manager's head but you summed it up perfectly, GCB.

There is no passion, the team don't look enthusiastic, there appears to be no motivation. Every game Robson comes out with "this isn't good enough, this isn't what I expected" yet it doesn't change.

Is it any of these?
  • Has Tony Daley leaving affected the players? Missing their fitness coaching they're used to
  • Moving from a lunatic on the touchline & jumping up & down in the dressing room manager, to a quiet, laid back, non-enthusiastic manager too much of a change?
  • Is Brian Kidd & Robson (both with no touchline enthusiasm) lacking that encouragement?
  • Are the team not happy with the management hence the poor performance?

It just doesn't make sense. A team that tried bloody hard in the Premier League (be fair, they did - we didn't hit bottom three until actual last day) can all of a sudden be struggling in the Championship - and that's with an "enhanced" side. It doesn't make sense why it's happening

I seriously dont want him at the moment i did back him at first

maybe im just frustrated from the bristol game still but were going no where

as my dad said we could do a man city at this rate straight down to league 1

I said leave it until after Hull away, but sod it now. That was utterly clueless. How a quality (on paper) side as ours can be where we are is scandalous.

We have to look for a replacement. When there is one, then the door opens.

I don't want Kidd as a caretaker manager.

I never wanted Robson in the first place but he deserved time at the job. 10 games in and less than 10pts onboard say to me that Robson has had his chance and failed miserably, get rid of him and Kidd now while there is a two week break and we might just be able to salvage something from this season.

Thats true Tino. At this rate we will as well.

I've never been one to call for a managers head soon as something goes wrong either. But, Robson has shown us nothing so far. 2 wins in 10 is relegation form, the complete opposite of what we should be achieving.

If McCabe wants Europe in 5 years time, then he best get rid of Robson.

I said give him a chance, Our win's came against possibly 2 of the best teams in the league. But it's still not f'in good enough.

I said it when people were calling for NW's head and look what happened there.

I'll say it again now.

Who would want the job otherwise?

For my first post it has to be Robson TO GO, not since the slide to Division 4 have I seen the side play with as little heart, motivation, commitment and aggression.

The team looks to have no game plan, no team spirit which in my opinion is down to the manager

Welcome to the forum... shame the Blades couldn't give us something positive to chat about! :hello:

Welcome to the forum.

It's a pity we all are feeling so down about the Blades!

welcome to the slagging site of robson (at the moment anyway :D)

I want to say give him a season, but its becomming increasingly worse and worse.....

I think it's the lack of fight and urgency shown by the team and some really woefull individual displays that's really getting to people.

You don't see Ferguson jumping up and down on the line but nobody questions that Man U is motivated. It's not what happens on the sidelines, that's just for the crowd. As there is no quality alternative lined up let's hope he can loan and then buy our way out of this.

I have seen ferguson plenty of times having a go on the sidelines when it is needed!

If his players were 2-0 down i believe he would not move from his technical area

Ferguson actually has an idea about managing a football club though. His players know their job, so it's rare that he has to do anything because he's already done it!

five games, if not he has to go for me

it might be too late after five games we could be rock bottom by then with the way things are going (god i hope not)
think that the best thing Robson could do for Sheffield United right now is to walk away and let us get someone in who can get us where we should rightly be and thats in the top 6 if not the top two.
McCabe will definately not sack Robson, Robson is the only one McCabe and Terry Robinson wanted as manager and was the only person they interviewed thats a fact! so its up to Robson to do the right thing for the good of Sheffield United.
personally i would welcome Warnock back with open arms right now as he knows most of the players and could get them believing in themselves again.

mcCabe didnt want robson, was the board?

He can fuck write off
should never been appointed in the first place.

If he is here all season WE ARE DOWN.....

I agree now is the perfect time before its too late - plenty of time to re-build the squad with a new manager - Paul Jewell ?? - in any case do we need a carpark protest for that to happen ??

Robson out NOW please Mr Mcabe, he has made good players poor in less than six months.

I've defended Robson all season but I just don't think the players are playing for him. They're not putting the effort in and you can tell.

We need something new, and no doubt we will revert to the long ball tactics again but football is all about results I suppose.

And Paul Jewell? I can't see it myself, he's been at Wednesday incase anyone has forgotten!

Problem is, just as the time we employed Robbo, theres nobody around!

i'm not the sort of person to be negative, or to jump on the sack the manager bandwagon especially after so few games this season, but in honestly i really really cant think of any stable argument to keep him in his job.

We have been one of, if not thee, most active clubs in the market over the summer (not just players in but financially too) and the players that have been brought in have been, from what ive seen and who ive spoken to, welcomed as quality members.

We have got rid of siome deadwood too. With the exception of Jags, and Davis our defence is much the same as last season, yet at this moment in time, i dont think they could deal with the attacking force of the donny belles, or the local school football team, not to mention a championship team who have very little to loose. So why i ask myself when they were pretty much holding their own against the big guns of the country are we in this position????:rant:

We have brought in Cahill, and with morgan and lucky we have possibly three of the best headers of the ball in the division, yet ronnie corbet could out-head them at the moment.

We were all aware of the teams need for a midfield last season, and we have brought in promising players that i see no reason why they shouldnt be walking past certain teams in this league, yet again they are having trouble stringing passes together.

And as for the attacking powers that we hold, upuntil this weekend we were the second highest scoring team in the division behind WBA, and we were only second by 2 goals, i dont think that any blade doubts our scoring ability, we have all been fimiliar with having a mutitude of strikers within out ranks (we all know that warnock loved the position) but i dont recall ever having so many that are so capable. So again why are where we are????:rant:

the only possibly logical reason is that the man that we are all placing our faith in, the guy that the board are confident can assure our return to the holy land of the prem for some reason doesnt seem to be able to get it right. We were warned by the WBA fans when the appointment was announced that the only thing robbo was good at was organising a pissup in a brewery, it seems obvious that he cant seem to motivate arguably the strongest team (on paper) bramall lane has seen for a number of years

Therefore in conclusion if the results do not improve, and he is still in the managers role by christmas i will be very surprised. By which time we will more than likely be in a second relegation battle in as many years, and probably to make it just so, we will be battling against the other half of the city :rant:

Very good post MAQ, and with thanks, it can now be found on our front page.

If anyone sees any other posts they would like to nominate as being put forward to be placed on our main site, just get in touch.

There has never been so little arguing amongst Blades fans about what is happening at the club and people are trying to put across their points emotively, eloquently and passionately. It's very refreshing to see.
