The best we've had at the Lane since Bassett and French.

His managerial career really took off since leaving us, didn't it?

People seem to forget that Blackwell took us to within 90 minutes of automatic promotion in the 2008/09 season, and also took us to a play off final against all odds of a board who sold all his best players from behind his back.......

People also seem to forget that with the players at his disposal we probably should have been looking at automatic. Perhaps had he not mishandled Cotterill, or sold Hulse so he could bring in Henderson, we might have done.

It's a phrase oft used, but the points tally we got would have got us up most seasons. The key points dropped were against Wednesday (think they did the double over us that season - the one where they scored after about 30 seconds?), and we got only got 1/6 against Warnock's Palace.

Two of our ex-managers who we disposed of get jobs at a Championship club.

Meanwhile back in League One.....

Yes, it was the defeat to Burnley. We were outplayed and outsung. Really crap day.

Every one of the four play-off finals has been a really crap day, but to rank them in levels of crapness I'd say 2003 was crappest due to the high expectation, followed by 2009, then 1997 because I was too pissed to care, and 2012 because I was too disillusioned to care.

Couldn't agree more. 2003 was the epitome of crap days.

It was a bloody good day out until kick off, I always knew we were in trouble, that morning news of Windass's spat with Warnock was in the press and Neil wore a bloody suit to walk out in.

And the cherry on the cake was Brown missing that penalty... Wish I left then, the coach trip home was terrible.

Yes, true. Apart from BT I can't think which of the other best players were sold behind his back during the 08/09 season.
