Feel anyone that says there not bothered to be out of this competition is lying and trying to hide the fact that it's embarrassing that we can't even make it to the final of this never mind win it. .
I promise you I'm not. I hate Wembley so much now that I wanted to lose semi final against Tottenham last year. Being annihilated by Chelsea I front of the nation for a mere few hundred quid cost isn't something I'm after. Neither is winning some shit pot Trophy, entry into which only goes to represent how royally fucked up we are.

This is my own fault, I can't really blame anyone else, I am on holiday, and had to come online to check up on my team.......

....Holiday ruined!

Ah well, hot weather and cold beer will help!

PeteBlade I agree it's not the best competition but non the less we are in league one and have to enter it, we are trying to prove our self's as one of the big dogs in league one and would have been a great opportunity to build some momentum and hopefully push on in the league but yet again we can't string a win of games together. What is embarrassing is the fact that week in week out we struggle to step up to the plate and can't win the matches we should be doing.

we are so wank

we might as well pack it all in now, this is the worst we have had in our entire 126 year history. Already torn up my match ticket and train ticket for the Southend game - £36 down the pan. On the bright side glad I won't have to face any pigs fans at work tomorrow.

alcoblade I just don't understand how you can say you would like for us to be out of a cup?
Like I said I know it is not the best of cups to be winning but why should we not go out to win it? Our luck has to change at some point at Wembley if we ever manage to get back there.
The players probably feel like they can't win there and it's just one of them grounds and every time they go the pressure will just be mounting up and they will feel the need to win even more, surely it would have been nice to make it there and win to break this loosing streak there and also gain a trophie we have never won in the process?

I'm not trying to convince you to agree with the thinking, just to accept that some of us are honesty glad to be out of it.

If I hadn't spend thousands watching us fail at Wembley already, I'd be up for the day out. But lifting the JPT cup - I couldn't give a fuck.

I'm in the camp of win every game we play. I don't really buy into the "concentrate on the league" thing because I think you can equally get a boost from a cup win/run. Yes, it's embarrassing that we have to enter this cup, but isn't it worse that we can't win it?

Does anybody think that it would be good to have additional fixtures with the slowest, tiredest, bunch of non triers we've ever seen assembled at the lane?

We're slow and plodding along in the league, except for Adams Baxter and sharp we have nobody trying for the whole 90'mins..

And jcr, he was good on Saturday, but you'd expect that when he was up against a postman, or whatever he was..

Glad we're out, thinking of the fans though, can't believe they have that passion with the performances of late, which clearly they've seen..true blades..

Dont panic, they are are good group of hard-working professionals. We kept a clean sheet...very pleasing, we gave it a good go....good to get Wallace some time on the pitch...players are starting to come back.....have I missed any?
Did you write it for him? Weather, their keepers saves, George longs save and frustrating would've got you the full house

Hmmm, according to sportinglife.com stats we only had 3 shots on target in the whole game (and 3 off).

I really couldn't give a shit about the JPT. I was annoyed when we won the first game. It's all about the league.

Having said that, people travelled a fair whack on a Tuesday night to watch utter drivel. Which isn't good enough.

Yes, some players got some game time. Yes, those players are as equally shit and useless as the other ones.

Couldn't give a toss about the result but I am getting worried about the consistently bad to average performances.

After not really caring about it last season, I changed my view on the JPT for this – I genuinely wanted us to win it. There are the small reasons – being able to get competitive games for our large squad, or for players returning from injury for example. But I maintain the main motivation – it would have been an ideal opportunity to rid us of this Wembley failure mentality that has plagued the club since I've been a fan. Instead, we might be facing a playoff final in May with the collective weight mentally of our repeated Wembley failures. It would have been better to have gone there with a memory of success to try and repeat, rather than a long run of disasters to try and end.

We'd better bloody well get an automatic promotion place...

Fucking disgraceful that we're not putting a shift in for these cup games. OK, some might say it's a tin-pot trophy, I don't give a flying fuck if it is, we need to go out and at least try to win. I doff my cap to those Blades that went tonight. Dedication or what.

I've always dismissed it as a tin pot trophy but this year I actually fancied us for it and thought it could do us good to have a run in summat we might actually be able to win, and galvanise us for the promotion push. But no ...

Why would you want to go to Wembley see us lose again probably to Millwall in the final whilst throwing £200 down the pan. Its not called the Tin Pot Paint Pot Cup for nothing these games do nothing but hinder our season

It did Bristol City so much damage that for a blink of an eye they were in danger of possibly at some point losing their position at the top of the league.

I dont support Bristol City did they get to the final or something
Ive been to Wembley / Old Trafford / Millenium too many times in matches that actually mean something
This trophy is pointless to me and means Fuck All
I even slag the Pigs off for winning the Washing Machine Cup

I've just got back from Fleetwood. A real good turnout by the travelling Blades. Its a shame we couldn't win it.

I enjoyed the game, end to end stuff. The wind played its part ( must've been the balti pie, very nice though!).

I am disappointed though to come on here and find numerous Blades posting who can't be bothered about the 'piss pot' cup but then go to great lengths to slag off the team and management. Strange really. :)

All credit to you and the rest of the fans that went really great support

Yeah, I'm all for cup runs normally, though I did think this season let's just concentrate on the league this one time and get out of L1. But with the JPT this time I then started to think yeah we might actually turn it round, do a Bristol City. Now I am starting to realise we are far from doing that, there really does seem to be summat badly wrong in this squad.

With Adkins now starting to ship some out on loan I suspect he has also come to that conclusion and I hope he gets the time he needs to fully resolve it, cos if he doesn't and someone else comes in it'll still be largely the same squad and the same old same old, but with presumably a smaller budget.

Likewise just got back and having read all the negative stuff I'm relieved that someone else saw the same game as me. It was good to hear a bit of vocal support for George Long after he made a good save in the first few minutes of the game, and subsequently I thought he went on to have a reasonable game.

The looping long range shot at the end that hit the bar, he got a hand on that too, I thought he did but wasn't sure. Adkins confirmed he did on Blades player.

I thought Kennedy had had his head knocked off! He does put it where others fear to tread! He had a great chance also. I'd have loved him to have put that one away.

Well done Grey. Let's slap each other on the back for making the effort to go and slap some of the players round the head with a damp Fleetwood cod for those missed chances!

It's ok though because..

Adkins "is well aware".

What an extremely poor show of management again. Tactics all wrong.

The squad need paying off/releasing, with Adkins to follow.

If he can't get the recruitment of 5 players right, and in fact gets it unbelievably wrong, what's he going to be like rebuilding a full squad?

I'll get immense satisfaction watching the crop of players responsible for the worst period in the club's history being fucked off to the likes Oldham and Bury. I'm so sick of this lot I'll be genuinely excited come the closed season.
