Yep. I questioned his selection after he has been injured all season and only making one appearance for the U21's last week. However, he proved me and I suspect many others wrong by turning in a stellar performance. Well done lad

Saw it slightly different, thought he did well, especially in the first half, however looked goosed in the 2nd. He still can't work out where the touchline is...

Made quite a few mistakes towards the end, I will give him the benefit of the doubt and say it was down to tiredness but he certainly had a great first half; unbelievable cross for Sammon's goal - right in the corridor of uncertainty.

Couldn't make it today sadly. Where did Coutts play? When I saw the team I assumed it would be 4-3-3 with Flynn advanced - was it 4-4-2 with Coutts on the wing?

Wasn't at the game today unfortunately, but glad to hear he gave a sound performance. He did some good stuff last season, especially in the away play-off leg. More of the same please Paul!!

Courts looked good today for me, but someone always has to come on here to slate him. Could be the link we need in midfield, but still only early days to know for sure. Hope he gets a run without injury.

...he's a good player, just totally fucked one way or the other ( like a few others) lets hope he can get reyt as he could contribute a lot to the season.

UTB!

Bloody auto correct, Coutts.....

Played on the right hand side of a 442. again for me went more sideways than forward, however used his fullbacks well and could do with a runner from CM, if that's where he is going to play. Flynn played on the left for the most part and drifted inside between sharp and sammon when we had the ball on the right.

Played well, but let's see how he goes over a few games, he turned in a few awful performances in a row last season and was rightly criticised, if he can now put in a few performances like the first half today in a row then he will have redressed the balance a bit.

To say this was his 1match for months I think he was mom. Can't believe he's the same players as last season when I would have driven him back to Derby. If he can play like that today what can he do when he's got a few cobwebs blow away

Really impressed with Coutts today, he looked like a completely different player than the one under Clough. Judging on last season, I never thought I'd be glad to see him back in the team but happy he is now. Lets just hope he can stay fit!

Linked really well with Alcock first half both defensively and going forward. Whilst not a natural wide player, still put in several good crosses, including for Sammons goal.

Very encouraging!

Did well, thought he could have driven forward more but what a return to the game!

Do you not realise he was nowhere near match fit last season? A player coming back from such a long injury and performing like Paul did today deserves the highest praise, not this sort of begrudging acknowledgement. Can't help thinking it would be very different for a Bladey favourite who wasn't signed from Derby by Clough.

Welcome back Couttsy and well done mate. Looking forward to seeing you in your favourite CM position.

Coutts looked excellent first half today - perhaps more like the player we were to have supposed to have signed!

Hope he stays fit. Linked up well with Baxter and Alcock for our first goal today.

That's not true though no mater how many times people say it, he had been in the Derby Match day squad for THREE months before we signed him, he just didn't play very well for us.

He's played well today as I said, so did Alcock, but I wouldn't judge a player on one good game no more than I would on one bad one which I think is pretty fair.

He did well, but I am not sure he would have the legs anymore to play CM in a flat midfield four and he's not really a winger.

Not sure where he would fit in the current system long term.

Do you think Louis Reed has redressed the balance for his very poor performances in the second half of last season?

Central Midfield without a doubt. He's got the legs when match fit, just like anyone else. He'll be at the heart of midfield with Dean Hammond before very long. Proper footballers. Excellent. We're getting somewhere, especially when Done and The Beard return.

I thought he looked exactly the same as last season :-)

Lots of real quality. Me and WHF Jr Sr really enjoy watching him play.

On the downside he really struggles for pace. That said he did (eventually) make it to the through ball and picked out Sammon for the second.

He even managed to misplace two five yard passes, the second one bounced off their player and to ours though.

He'll face a bigger test against a stronger team with 11 players but glad he contributed today.
