Another option for you:

Someone who any competent football club would have released and replaced.

I was trying to think of better choices but all I could think of was 'shit'. Was a bit blinded by it.

I went with absolutely fucking terrible because technically he isn't wank, dogshit, toss or a non footballer.

Horrendous and the worst captain we've ever had just didn't feel right.

3 words were needed to sum him up properly.

Yet another positive thread, although I certainly would not have him in my team -he doesn't pick himself ! Shouldn't we get behind the whole team as a one? Baxter plays and gets slaughtered , doesn't play and we miss him ! Time to stop looking for scapegoats like we always do , Doyle , Montgomery etc etc and get behind the lads. UTB !

I know Adkins wasn't responsible for giving him a new contract but new manager or not, he deserves criticism for the absolutely awful decision to make him captain. No getting away from it. Maybe it's a squad lacking obvious choices for captain but surely he watched some videos and saw what an absolute disaster he was for us last season.

We've just lost at home to bury due to defensive errors, much the same as last season. From the same culprit.

I really apologise for us not being as positive as you'd have liked.

....going to get dropped and stripped of the captains armband if he carries on. My god he's shocking, ok, it might have been a foul (I didn't think so) but how long did he have to clear the fucking ball ? He's Jay McEveley not Lionel Messi, clear the ball ffs don't try to walk it out of defence, do YOU'RE job and if someone else fucks up, we don't blame you.

A proper goalkeeper would've probably stopped at least one of them to be honest. But I'll have to watch them again.

This isn't anything to do with the content of your posts in this thread - far from it, but the style in which they are written.

Are you Herbert?

Their second remind me of the Nathan Byrne goal in the playoff semi final first leg. Both were good but feel from that far out the keeper should get a touch on the ball. Didn't see their third as I was walking down Shoreham Street, heard the roar and it sounded like it was us, fucking gutted when I found out it was 1-3.

With all due respect we are in division 3 and players at our level will make mistakes, some more than others granted ! I wouldn't have Mceveley anywhere near the team either but slaying the guy constantly seems pointless , were all know he is not anywhere near good enough and hopefully this will be addressed by Tuesday but re hashing the same thread after each game serves no purpose UTB

He is at best a lower standard League One left back. I really would consider moving Freeman over to the left with Flynn at right back because we simply can't let him continue to make such huge errors every other game. I'm sure he is a great professional and all but he isn't good enough at all. Can anyone seriously imagine him being the captain of a Title winning side? Such a huge error not to strengthen on deadline day for me

Oh and I forgot Howard in the scapegoats , 2 goals his fault ???!
PRICELESS !!!! UTB

Agree with you.

You cannot always compensate for errors , but when they are becoming a liabilty , you do have to do something about it . This will be glaringly obvious to Adkins , or he would not be in the loan market , to fill / strenghen certain positions . You cannot afford to have any weak links in a promotion chasing side .

Nothing against any player in a red and white shirt , and saying they are wank , shit , non footballer , toss , is not supporting the team and way off the mark IMO.

We all get frustrated , but lets be rational .

UTB

Yet you'll happily watch Little Louis play for the opposition (judging by the ratio of his passes to them, compared to our own players) without adverse comment. He could have no complaint had he been subbed at half-time......again.

Bladey Hypocrites.

Our strike force is?

Sorry but 14 shots yet only 6 on target.

wait a second don't we have 6 captains in the squad?

Must confess, I never for a moment thought Howard was to blame. McEverley went completely to pot after he got booked. And Adkins' substitutions backfired spectacularly.

The real bottom line in all this, similar to last season, is that we cannot afford to persist with defenders this flakey. I'm afraid only two of our back four today will improve as players.

Conor Sammon is not the answer , he works hard (so do I) but will end up with about 10-12 goals which is not enough Imo ! UTB

Sammon has only scored in one game. Looking a bit less convincing all of a sudden. I'm confident he'll be decent over the season though. What bothers me most about him and the partnership with Sharp is that neither are good at running at defenders - and they get a lot of opportunities to.

As for Reed, he's not good enough to be in the first team. His strength is supposed to be his technical game but every time I watch him he makes technical mistakes you'd expect to see in Sunday league games - slicing passes, misplacing easy balls etc. He's not good enough when pressurised either. He'll hit the occasional stylish pass and people will over react to it but those moments are at least equalled by poor bits of play.

This has got to be one of the worst over reaction threads ever.
I am eagerly waiting @Bergens assessment of how Louis Reeds performance was so much worse than anyone else yet the thread starter and so many others failed to mention or spot this of the blue eyed boy.

Actually quite a few think Reed played OK .......................... I'm certainly not one of them.

Where's the option for 'fucking useless'?

Reed & Woolford were also shit today though.

We should have recruited the players Bury did during the Summer.
Their centre back Clarke is much better than Collins or McEv although he is older
Leon Clarke is better than Connor Sammon, Clarke is only 29 and will still be better than Sammon for some years. He must have scored about a dozen against us, he will get more goals over this season than Sammon.
Their left back was a strong and aggressive athlete
Tom Pope was a blades target last year but he went there instead, he scored today and yet we waste money on Higdon.
Mellis is an athlete, compare him to Louis Reed and Scougall who looks 6.
Even their subs looked like athletes and their goalie was an argumentative cheat. But they all showed fight and desire when we lacked it.

We need to change our recruitment style and actually show some ambition rather than being constantly outgunned in the transfer market by tiny tiny tinpot Lancashire clubs like Bury and Wigan that survive on pitiful crowds of 2000 to 5000 but that are run by ambitious Manc football people.

I think it showed today that clubs like Fleetwood, Bury and Wigan are far more ambitious. Their board of Directors and players want it so much more than ours.
The fax machine being broken all the time is beginning to p1ss me right off.

Why pick out one player for a potty thread ?
The whole team was poor today, all the bad faults of last season were on display again and without the penalty it would have finished 3-0......

jay played a key role in 2 of their goals though, that why he gets his own thread. I've not really had a go at him before but you can't keep being weak and expect to keep getting picked

For me he's a good bloke to have around the dressing room and a great player on the bench because he can play anywhere in the back in case of emergency.

He isn't someone you stick the armband. Basham or Brayford should be ouf club captain
