Cresswell?

Anything before 1992 is really before my time so the chance of me getting a pointless score is minimal...therefore, I'll throw these ones in there as well:

Blackman (2012/13)
McNulty (2014/15)

Sorry, not having ever seen "Pointless", I am a bit lost on this.

Are you arbitrarily assigning points to United top scorers on the basis of how obscure you think they are with the most obscure getting the least points?

Yes, yes I am.

(Obviously in the real show, they would survey 100 actual Blades to get the pointless score. I haven't gone to those lengths)

That reminds me, I must put my Viz - 'Mr Logic' t-shirt in the wash when I get home.

Just struggling to see the point (ba boom) of the game. I can see the fun in "let's name United's top scorers". It seems a bit strange to add "and try and guess which a random bloke things is most obscure".

Don't bother then.

Personally, I think it's more interesting to try and pin down one obscure answer rather than just everybody listing Deane, Edwards, Evans etc.

It's not compulsory though.

It *think* it's called a bit of fun. Might be lost on some mind.

I enjoyed it anyway.

Nothing else to add.

Taylor was never top scorer :)

According to Wikipedia, he was joint top scorer in 1996-1997 with 12 goals.
I have nothing else to go on, so they're the answers I used.
Who do you think was top scorer in that season?

Katchuro and Walker got 12 each. Taylor got 11. Wiki is wrong.

1-2 Birmigham H 24/8/96
3. Bradford H 10/0/96
4. Man City H 28/9/96
5. Stoke A 19/10/96
6. QPR H 26/10/96
7. Bolton H 22/11/96
8 Swindon H 26/11/96
9. Oldham H 28/12/96
10. Southend H 18/197
11. Port Vale H 4/3/97

Ok, fair enough.

I'll publish my list in full tomorrow and you can check it for any other errors.

We can also all then argue about whether xx is really more obscure than yy or not.

All part of the fun. Hurrah!

If its all comps (which i think Wiki is) Walker top scored with 15. Katchouro got 14 and Taylor 12.

It's all comps, I'll say Chris Guthrie then :)

Wiki states 12 each, so I think it's just league goals and wrong about Taylor/Walker.
Brown is down as 16 goals and Guthrie isn't on the list, which I suspect confirms it's based on league goals only.

I think there are 3 answers that I haven't seen anybody give yet (even if including multiple answers).

I'm not sure if this is because nobody has thought of them yet or because they're considered too obvious? ;)
