IMO Yes. Just like any CEO, Shop manager, publican, Prime Minister, Party Leader, Site Manager, Bank manager, Ship's Captain, Producer, etc. etc. The buck stops with the leader who sets the tone, sets the standards and leads. The rest follow but the best leaders generate responsibility within the group, of course they do.

Well, no prospect of a sensible conversation then Woody.

Players (however incompetent, however thick) are immune from criticism and entitled to choose their own boss. I think we'll leave it there.

Players choose their own boss? Bosses choose their own team Pinchy, be they politicians, publicans etc etc. But team members do not choose their own boss. Footballers often have bosses changed while they're at a club, they have the option to refuse to go join a manager who wants them to sign but they never ever actually choose their own boss. A boss might choose them but a player never chooses his boss, sorry I suppose Messi can.

alcoblade Thank you - I thought I was the only one.

"Saved us from relegation"? Blind Freddy could have saved us from relegation. It really was as simple as replacing that idiot Weir. The cup runs I'll give you - but anyone, anyone, other than the utter incompetent that was in charge would have been able to keep Utd in Div 3. No credit for that.

Bit harsh Hague, think he deserves a bit more credit than that.

Blind Ferry next manager 6/1

My old boss used to say don't throw away your dirty water before you have got some clean, a replacement is probably lined up

I'll give you the answer. Neither are very good. Would you want them as our central defence next season? Me neither...
Tad unfair to say neither weren't good enough, we've only seen them play once or twice together, that's not a good barometer to say whether they could perform together and make an established partnership in League one or not. I'm not saying they would have been good for us but at the same time we can't say they weren't good enough.

What i will say is they'd have been a damn sight better than what we had and it was our manager that signed Butler and kept Collins on our books.

Bryan Ferry you say?

In light of Chris 'Influential' Porter throwing his weight behind the Morgs For Manager campaign, another key backer comes forward...

The wording is interesting on OS.

'Manager leaves Blades'

Implying the manager chose to leave?

'The search for the Club's new First Team Manager will now start and it is hoped that this will result in identifying and recruiting the right candidate within a relatively short period of time.'

Suggest's we have no one 'lined up' and were not expecting it...as has been stated, the club were sticking with Clough until this 'transfer target' meeting...

Interesting choice of words: "Everyone has complete respect for him at the club."
Unfortunately the fans are losing their respect for him. He seems untouchable for some reason. Was it our relegation from championship when he 1st took a back room role?

If I wanted a job in football I'm not sure I'd want backers like Porter and Hill. Good fellows, but footballers?.....

I heard a rumour that something kicked off last night, so this was not planned, only a rumour though (so far)
