After over a month, we're back at home again versus Newcastle.

This is your thread for all on-topic discussion of the match.

And don't forget to telephone in your predictions for our Newcastle audio preview.

0114 2998344 is the number you want :)

I for one feel good about the effort at Bolton. Keep the same back four (maybe Geary for Bromby), and put Gillespie, Tonge, Legs and S Quinn back together (our best chance to hold the ball in midfield), and stick Stead and CKR up front. Go Blades!!!

Really hope we win this game considering how poor newcastle are at the moment.

It's another "must win" match for us, as all of them are now. Attack them, and their dodgy defence will surely let some goals in.

I agree with Shorehamview. Massive game this saturday, but i am confident we can get at least a point.

I have a feeling the lane will be rocking next saturday!

Just thinking back to this stage last season when it was uncertain of our promotion after a slip up, same as what we have just had. Remember what happened then?? Well i think we can come on top again this year!

yer we will win this saturday dont think newcastle are tha good ad with there defence i reckon ckr will run them ragged if he gets going.

we need to play stead to givs us a bit of presence up front for the rest to play off.

think we should keep same team but swap shelton for stead and we will win this game. hopefully mancity will beat charlton and there be a bigger gap. the games carlton got left are a lotharder than the ones we got so i can see us staying up .

Man City v Charlton,
Charlton v Reading
everton v charlton
charlton v sheff utd
blackburn v charlton
charlton v spurs
liverpool v charlon

looking at them i feel ther are harder n if were above them at last match i feel really confident about staying up. westham got man u away so i were above em were still in this league

Think we will stay up at Watford game to be honest.

I wouldn't call it a must win game but I can see us winning this one with the dodgy defense and poor form Newcastle are on at the moment. It looks like they don't have anything to play for really even though they could still get dragged down into the relegation fight.

Everyone's team for saturday??

I think i would play,

Kenny
---------
Geary
Jags
Lucketti
Killa
-----------
Gillespie
Monty/Fathi/Ligiertwood (cant make my mind up:p)
Tonge
S.Quinn
----------
CKR
Stead

Kenny
------

Lucketti
Jags
Killa
------
CKR
Tonge
Monty
S.Quinn
------

He's hopefully training today or tomorrow and possibly back in contention for saturday. Probably be on the bench.

Given
Solano
Moore
Onyewu
Taylor
Milner
Butt
Dyer
N'Zogbia
Sibierski

Would be my team to take on your lot on Saturday....

But we have a manager who is well, stupid and will pick the likes of Stephen Carr, Celestine Babayaro etc despite them being fucking shit and you lot will probably win due to our stupid idiot of a manager, oh and the fact that we are not very good.

Not just Sheffield United fans that are a bit depressed then :)

Welcome to the forum Gallowgate!

if you look at the side you have put down Gallowgate i would say it's pretty strong!

Individually yes, but we are not really playing as a team and I doubt Roeder will pick that team, the bloke is clueless. 3 years ago this week we were 5th in the league and just about to play PSV Eindhoven in Europe, now we are crap.

if i had to pick someone as your worst player, it would have to be bramble....think he's useless.

I don't know how he gets picked virtually every game but he is rubbish, he kept making tonnes of mistakes everytime Hulse put him under pressure.

I expect the team to be as follows:

Kenny
Killa
Jagielka
Davis
Geary
Squinny
Tonge
Monty
Keef
CKR
Nade

Just thinking about our starting line up makes me realise how short of attacking options we are. We seem to have an abundance of 2nd strikers but nobody who will really stand up and be counted up there.

I personally would like Stead back in the action but the only was i can see this happening is if he partners Nade. That would mean dropping CKR and i think his good form of late will keep him just ahead of the pack.

Kenny

Geary Lucketti Jags Armstrong

Keef Monty Tonge S Quinn

CKR Shelton

Bench: Killa, Davis, Quinn, Stead, Nade

Think this is a very winnable game but i think alot of how we paly and how the fans feel will depend on the shity v charlton game tomorrow,im sure saturday will be a great atmosphere and we will push the lads on. It will be a tough one though

Should be a great atmosphere we could have sold more than double out allocation for this game, a lot of season ticket holders who applied for tickets were unsuccessful! Very high demand as we have not played at your place since 93/94. I've got my two though, heading down on Friday.

Think its very close to selling out saturday though isn't it?

I think so, my old man bought two tickets in the home end yesterday. We are staying with one of his friends in Sheffield so he is going in the home end with his mate.

Webber is not the sort of player to sacrifice his body in a takle in midfield, but he has the instinct for goal that many of our younger players lack. Give him a seat on the bench and sub him for the first one of the front two who starts to slow down. Play to his strength.

Yet somehow has a few prem clubs interested in snapping him up for free this summer. The sad thing is, he will prob come to us.

What strikers do though really? I'd like to see webber on bench for this game, and give shelton a starton, let him round the defence ragged a bit, for webber to come on with 20 mins left to finish them off.

Nothing less than 3 points this sat will be acceptable for me.
