What has Donovan done wrong?

There has to be something more to it. Hes looked our best player this season so far yet not involved past 3 games.. (assuming he doesnt come on today its 70th min at the time of writing this)

Feels like all 3 of these games were games where Donovan could have made a difference.

After wilders comments post Fleetwood and some of the players who have still managed to get a game today and most notably who hasn’t such as Donovan.

It does make me concerned the dig about not listening was aimed at Donovan for being too direct and not backwards sidewards enough.

What I don't understand is why Wilder decided to change to 442 and sign Donovan for the right wing, but spend all summer chasing Souttar and waiting for Phillips instead of recruiting a left winger too. Donovan is the victim of this.

If it meant selling Peck to fund three permanent signings then I could live with that.

I think we're s hit and destined for a bottom end fight. Without Bamford signing last season we were down. Since then we've lost three of our four best players and replaced them with six late window, unfit signings - i.e. what we could afford. The only bright spots from last season to this is Cooper's recovery from his injury. The six I expect to improve as they get fitter. Personally, I can already see improvements in some of them. If Cannon slots home (game over), or Bogat goes, or the goal doesn't count we get something today. They'll be a lot of those game though as we lack quality.

I could live with Peck going too because he is one atrocious footballer but because he beats his chest and badge and likes a fight we sing his name, I noticed no one came in for him Jan, another crap player we are stuck with, check his passing and shooting lack of ability.
I know what a good footballer looks like and he’s never been one

He reminds me of Berge, another player I thought was over rated. One good game, then two mediocre or poor games follow. No consistency.

I have an inkling of what you're alluding to regarding structural issues but I fail to see how, having a squad of mostly championship level players, turning out performances of the level we are currently doing can be a direct consequence of those issues. If , because of those issues we had to recruit a squad of non league players then I could understand.
