It would appear , from the outside in - that the owners have flip flopped their attitude to recruitment this window in quite an erratic way .

What else could explain the positivity , openly expressed by CW before the Chesterfield game - to that of now .

For all we know our recruitment team may have lined up our top targets , ready to close in on them only for the rug to be pulled from underneath them .

Perhaps , and most probably imo , they have had to move to the next layer followed by next layer followed by next layer of targets due to the moving sands .

That’s why we are fishing in the cess pit , pitiful pond we currently are .

So perhaps it’s not the recruitment team at all but the attitude of our inexperienced , indifferent to the reality of caring about the club / fans / players etc of our owners

Shambles whichever way you look at it .

Having said that I think we will still end up with a competitive squad who can challenge for the playoffs - thanks to CW and maybe our recruitment team

To plan sales you need a buyer.

Take Burrows for example. We could have sold him a while back, earlier in the window. We’d have got 3.5m for him, having already knocked back 5m in January.

When it comes to sales you are at the mercy of higher ups coming because they had the cash. West Ham for example only are looking because their lad is joining Brentford. Wolves are only considering because they MAY get an offer for one o both of their current players on the left.

If we’d made a big open song and dance about having to sell then I’m pretty sure we’d have been low balled all summer.

At this stage we don’t know fully if the issue is SCR or the owners not being prepared to take much of a hit.
