Word salad bollox. Wilder Sounds bereft of ideas or any insight into what is going on. Not his fault in any way, apparently, the players keep making ‘poor decisions’. Strategy was right, tactics were right, so no problems with the management - the players are just are too stupid to expedite the ‘master plan’. Yet another half time talk and reset that produces absolutely zero change in mindset or tactics. Unsurprisingly, doing nothing produces the same result. I like the guy, think he is genuine and passionate about the club. However, rinse and repeat ain’t working and time for a change. The play off final isn’t a bad bad memory, it’s a recurring nightmare

Did the interviewer ask him why Femi didn't start?

Because after an initial poor game Hoevers been solid including IMO a MOTM performance. You don't drop someone playing well. He was crap today, it happens. Seriki isn't the player many on here seem to think he is. Average defender but excellent in a partnership with Brooks when attacking. Stop making a mountain out of a mole hill. After today Seriki probably starts at Birmingham.

To be fair, the majority of the current squad are pretty thick, and a couple of the handful that aren’t are past it or just not very good. The intelligent ones are Bamford, Riedewald, Mee, Bindon and McGuinness. The rest of them are, at best, not very bright.

Thats bollocks Henry the Hoover has done OK. We are at home against a not so good WBA side we really need to win the game Brooks and Seriki have a great understanding attacking third part of the pitch and he waits until 80 mins to change it. Fucking useless

Hoever's been ok, QPR was his best game but they were awful.
Femi causes chaos and would have been ideal today against a defensive West Brom playing a makeshift left back.
Femi is also our player and unless he was carrying a knock should definitely have started today, that's why I was asking about the interview.
Hopefully he starts against Norwich

He only changed it in the 84 minute because they equalised

But Chong was really good, he didn't play today?

I get what you're saying, but it doesn't make sense to drop one and not the other. Him and Brooks looked like aliens today.

And as for your point on Seriki, you're wrong. He's everything we think he is and more. A top drawer talent with pace to burn.

He sounded like he knew we wouldn't make the playoffs after today's result and performance
This.

From
What I’ve seen he’s been doing his best to motivate the players to make a late play off push but as of today it’s hard to do that.

It must be a kick in balls for both the players and the staff. So not sure what you can say to make it sound positive. Crap performance. Crap result. End of season IMO

I was with you up to McGuinness 😳🤢

That's a different point altogether. I was replying to a post asking why Seriki didn't start. But HEnRy tHe HoOveR says more about you than actually thinking it through.

Having pace to burn doesn't make you a good player. He's decent going forward but isn't a good defender, highlited against Coventry when he needlessly ran the ball out of play then walked back to his position allowing Coventry to take a quick throw and score. He's a good player but not as good as some would have you believe.

He should have started with two strikers. He should have started Seriki or at least brought him on earlier. Brookes and Seriki should both be playing as much as possible. I get the impression Wilder doesn't like them even though when they are both on the pitch they are very good.
I read this quite a lot. Where has the narrative come from that he doesn't like them? How are you evidencing this? Because he's called them out a couple of times? They're not the only players he's criticised.

I'm the eternal optimist but I think it's fair to say that we're very much outsiders now for the playoffs. You can't get promoted on form of win two, draw one lose one when you're ten points off the pace to start with. All season we're just not consistent enough. We have ourselves a mountain though with the start we had in fairness to Chris.

As Ive said thats bollocks. Henry gave a corner away from OUR corner. Henry is decent at defendning
Seriki is one of our best attacking talents
Why isnt Seriiki the plalyer we think he is ?
Hes a very good attacking full back / wing back that plays very well with Brooks

I agree on Seriki; a decent Championship player that’s been in good form this season but that’s it really for me. In his favour is his athleticism but he can be very sloppy on the ball, decision making and passing need work.

A decent player who is a fantastic athlete can improve their passing and decision making.
A small, slow tidy footballer will be limited by their lack of athleticism.

I must be hearing something different in Wilder's interviews, because I don't buy this narrative that he suggests things are never his fault.
You would have been promoted last season if there wasn't 2 other sides that got 100 points. How often isn't 90 points enough after taking your foot off the gas once the others had pulled away. Your squad wasn't brilliant but he got them playing with a siege mentality and it worked. His prize for this was the sack and his squad changed. After finding out how poor a squad you were left with his replacement got the sack and he came back to save you.

You've been left with an average Championship squad. He can't be blamed for this. He is a limited manager but he is good at what he does. But yes, he can be creative with his post match interviews, but there's a lot worse out there.

Agree Seriki but he is but he’s crap at defending
