Would you have took 4 points from Stoke and Norwich before 3pm last Saturday? (After 3 straight wins)

Yes it was a poor game tonight but 8 changes (due to illness for the 100th time) and a big a week including Friday I dont think its the worst result ever.

Not on Wilder tonight either. Thankfully he's keeping us up.

We didn't lose. If you don't win you make sure to get a point.

We looked like a side that made 8 changes. And yet created more clear chances. And kinda gifted them the equaliser which seemed to give them a platform.

It's a shame because with a few more regulars or just a bit more composure and we win that.

But you don't win every game especially at this level. Go onto west brom and see what we can get there I guess.
Get a win and back on track.

Probably, especially considering we put a reserve side out tonight and that Cooper earned us that point right at the end.

Disappointed not to have got more out of it considering the sitter Ings missed and that we gifted them their goal.

It's shown up just how poor some of our squad players are but we got through a fairly grotty game with another point to add to the tally at least.

I was fine with the result tonight under the circumstances. The performance was very messy, but with so many starters out, and 2 players in the starting 11 who are back from injury, we did well to grind it out.

They should have scored again, but so should we. Take the draw and move on.

Yep fair result over all. They played us off the park for periods in the game but we've missed 3 sitters and nearly lost it at the end. Plenty of bang average performers for us tonight, especially in midfield but a shout out to Bindon who I thought had a good game. Not the end of the world under the circumstances.

Given the performance I'm happy we got something out of it, but with WBA away on Friday its a bit of a tough one to take.

I know WBA aren't doing great at the moment but the Hawthorns has always been one of those tricky away days, and it's not often that we win there, last time was 22/23 season I believe.

Positives were Bindon and Chong. Cooper's kicking was woeful but he's pulled off a couple of outstanding stops. Looked like he'd been told not to get stuck in but Arblaster is such a tidy player. With the chances made it wouldn't have been unfair if we'd scored two or three.

Not a pretty game, some major negatives I'll leave for another thread, but in the context of having to make so many changes that's a decent point.

Yes, good point today and good point by you

Another positive is Ings is off the mark, he needed that after the miss in the first half and it was coming he gets himself in good positions has already had 2 goals ruled out (correctly) for offside but good to see another striker score.

Bench was better all on wilder

Another positive on 10/11/2025 we were in the relegation zone on 10 points fast forward to 10/12/2025 we are 17th on 23 points and currently 6 points clear. A couple of wins now could get us into that pack of teams where anything could happen, there are currently 7 points separating 4th-16th it is so tight this year, where we need to regroup go back to what we were doing well, learn from it and hope we have a few more back for Friday.

A major positive is that we have now put together a lengthy unbeaten run that looked well beyond us just a few weeks ago. The big test will come when we inevitably lose one, it will be interesting to see how we react to that.

Chong was good but then got injured

Bindon OK

Arblaster came through

Wilder should have started Hamer at least if we were weakened elsewhere in midfield

I'd have probably gone 1 up front (Bamford) and packed the midfield more to help out the deeper 2

Got to say I didn't see any periods where they played us off the park. They had a very good spell from 5th to 20th minute and probably should have gone ahead but apart from them they never laid a glove on us. When they equalized they still hadn't had a shot since half time and they only had two after--a wild shank and the huge chance at the end. We were sloppy but we created the better chances and should have won it on balance of play.

In our last 4 league visits there we've won 2 drawn 1 and lost 1. This century the record is

P10 W4 D3 L3.

So a relatively decent record.

It's a fair point. Just because the ones out there were able to play doesn't mean they weren't carrying something.

Soumare and Tangaga looked fucked second half.

Soumare maybe a bit error prone but he certainly has more energy than that usually, he was struggling to track back second half.

Think people are guilty of comparing it to the Stoke game….which was probably our best performance since Covid.

Agree….we weren’t fluent regards style of play but we were more direct and created loads of good chances.
On another night we win that 3-0 and no one is complaining.
Danny Ings missed 2 or 3 really easy chances and should have had an hatrick.
Thought our midfield struggled a bit….with Arblaster (as expected) and Soumare off the pace.

However there were positives.

Thought our midfield pair were the source of our woes. Not providing the defensive shield we have had recently, nor winning many balls back and moving the ball forward. Plus out wide those Peck, (Brooks, Sericki/Mcallum, O’Hare) triangles did not happen which meant we did not create as much, or draw defenders out of the middle.

Blaster (for obvious reasons) looked well off the pace, and Soumare I am not convinced about, his passing is very hit and miss. But someone had to play if the illness and injuries meant others could not.

And how S24SU react as well.

Sandy vaginas or stoicism - wheat and chaff and all that.

Lets see.......

I have been to the Hawthorns 5 times. Won 4 and drew once. Unfortunately I wont be there on Friday
We ought to crowdfund your ticket and travel costs, then use the other thread to triangulate your address, then pop round when the game is on and help ourselves to as much water as we can from your outside tap. 👍. You win, we win, Utd win. It's perfect.

I'm not too peed off about the result and a point is a point. Even had the game been on Wed and no Friday game we'd still have had a similar slim pickings team. Sounds like Peck may be out for a few weeks or more (calf) but great to see Blaster back. More minutes for him on Friday and he'll be match fit in no time.

Norwich were the best team we've played recently and no doubt they'll put a run together soon and move out of bottom 3.
