CONFIRMED Patrick Bamford

At least he's not gone and wasted £50+m on strikers in January (yet!) If he's fit to go straight away especially, never been a fan of PB, but it's a shot to nothing I gu

If he does nowt there will be a lot of happy fannies. If he does well or OK those fannies will have egg on their? Oops it doesn't quite fit.

See

Don't think I hate anyone as much as you hate a footballer
He may be a lovely guy, volunteer for charity in his spare time and take his mum out for Sunday lunch every week. I wouldn't acknowledge him should I meet him in person. This is about football and from his play I believe him to be a horrible cheat, one of those players other players hate.

Hate is a strong word I agree. You must be fortunate to have an optimistic world view. You are clearly a better person than me. Feel better?

LUFC News taking it rather well. Dare I dream he has a fabulous 2 seasons with us and scores against them next season when they're relegated. Funny old game.

Dear Patrick,
Congratulations.
You’ve actually managed the impossible.
Not scoring an open goal? Expected.
Missing a penalty? Standard procedure.
Getting injured clapping the fans? Classic Bamford behaviour.
But choosing to leave Leeds United for Sheffield bloody United…
That, Patrick, is a new personal best.
Honestly, we didn’t think you could drop lower than some of those finishing attempts, but here we are, you’ve nutmegged even our lowest expectations.
You could’ve gone anywhere:
– America
– Spain
– A quiet Championship loan where nobody’s watching
– Early retirement in the Cotswolds
But no. You sat there and thought, “hmm… what’s the most disrespectful option available?”
And signed for that lot.
The club where football goes to suffer.
The club whose highlight of the decade was simply “kicking people.”
The club players join when they want to know what it feels like to play in a windy supermarket car park.
We tried with you, Patrick. Oh, we TRIED.
We defended you when you missed sitters from six yards.
We chanted your name when you tripped over your own feet.
We even convinced ourselves your “hold-up play” was something more than accidental chest control.
And THIS is the repayment?
Joining a side whose tactical philosophy is basically run about a bit and hope someone falls over.
Fine.
Enjoy Bramall Lane.
Enjoy the hoofball.
Enjoy fans who’ll turn on you after one bad touch so violently you’ll be begging for the safe embrace of Elland Road therapy sessions.
And if you happen to score against us?
No hard feelings.
We’ll just assume it bounced in off your shin.
Sincerely,
A Leeds United fanbase going through all five stages of grief; rage being the main one.
P.S.
Try not to get injured walking out of the tunnel.
We genuinely worry.
Brilliant 🤩
Really funny imo

I've hated bamford at every club he's played for, he's the hated players hated played, even Suarez thinks he's a horrid shit of a player but loves him because he makes him look honest. This is pure desperation now, the shit topping of the already effluent cake baked so far. We've regressed so far, can't even be arsed to call out Wilder on this, it's just so predictable.
We are a mess - we have limited choices - hope it’s goes beautifully Paddy

He has scored 1in 4 in his career. Significantly better than what we have right now at this level. I don’t like him personally when I think of his behaviour in that Villa game but I would have him over Cannon any day. I would almost bet he will have scored more by Christmas. Nothing to lose give him a chance.

He hasn’t scored a goal in years, had a significant injury this year and wasn’t prolific when he was fit.

Say it again, what on earth does this 7 week trial achieve? He won’t be fit and even when he was he needed loads of chances (which we don’t create) to score.

The club is panicking and have no idea what they’re doing. The only question left is will we beat the players used total from 10/11 (already at 29, 39 to beat).
It doesn't matter he is an extra option now upfront, its got to be better than not having that option even if there is only a 5% chance it might come off.
Especially with it only being such a short deal.
I am also sure the club will have assessed him fitness wise and how far he is off from playing.

Wilder does like a big dirty bastard up top, the likes of Madine, McBurnie and that other big idiot he signed who got sent off on his debut v Brentford?

Also he’ll be here after January and we know it. If he’s seen to be even slightly useful we’ll offer him a contract in Jan.

Leeds fan at work told me today, I thought he was taking the piss. I genuinely didn't believe him, thinking even we aren’t that stupid.

I can see the logic for signing Bamford, but... This is already the most difficult-to-like (or even care about) Blades squad for a number of years, and then we add Bamford to it?
Hate / Love relationship
Hate to Love them
Love football Hate diving

The bigger issue here is that you’re happy to work with a Leeds fan 😉

I've never a problem with constructive criticism ,but come on some of the anger towards him is ridiculous,I'll trust the manager and staff ,some work some don't that's football .and I don't play the massive blade I am .😉😂
Reasons for he's a different type of striker than we have
Downside would be fitness and desire has he got it
Got to say, I don't feel the big hate for him. Maybe I've missed something, but a bit of cheating and some banter that he personally apologised about anyway.

Saw a couple of people say he wasn't any good even at his best/fittest... No, at his peak he played so well in the Prem that he got in the England squad.

I obviously understand the pessimism. But actually there are enough grounds for optimism on this very short-term-emergency-signing.

wasnt being judgey
I Don't find any of the current squad particularly likeable so I can't see the harm in adding another twat to the throng

I've had to stop reading the posts on this thread. What a whiny, entitled, sandy-vagina'd, ignorant, one-eyed, lily-livered, prejudiced fanbase we have become.

Admittedly posting this solely to be a twat but can any of our resident Wilderettes post their feelings about this signing?

I fully agree with your sentiment, but I don’t think it’s the fan base, it’s this forum. Numerous current threads of people falling over themselves to be more and more miserable. Pathetic whingeing. Thank God it’s not the real world.

I don't see the issue. He's not exactly Marlon King, is he? Mind you, I liked Keith Curle...
