So to all the people desperate to evict Selles (plan A) after 2 games, who the hell is your miracle replacement (plan B) with the players we have and the board we have?
Answers on a very tiny postcard please !

Anyone who both can coach defence and actually has a system which creates a chance, and can adapt to use the talented players who we already have. And someone who has more man-management ability to elevate average players to good, not make good players look (below) average.

I’d want some experience in getting promotion.

How about the bloke they wrongfully sacked?

One of the owners was supposedly successful due to the failing fast approach.

Well it was a failed move to get rid of the previous manager and he’s now seeing the disastrous results of it.

If they don’t double down and give Selles the players he needs, not before the window ends, but before the next match, he’ll be a dead man walking.

"How about the bloke they wrongfully sacked ?"

100% NO

Cannot take anymore shutting up shop on the 65min trying to hang on to a 1-0 lead.
Embarrassing antics in pubs.
Cringe worthy interviews.
Badge slapping when we win.
Negative substitutions.
Lack of a plan B.

"Well it was a failed move to get rid of the previous manager and he’s now seeing the disastrous results of it".

Would you have been saying the same thing if Wilder had lost the first two League games ? and if he did come back and we lost the first two games with him being manager would you be calling for him to be removed ?

If Selles doesn't work out there are other managers out there.

He only had 1 point after his his 1st 4 in charge and also got knocked out of the league cup in the 1st round.

I think who ever the manager is they would be lucky if the "invisible men" give the required backing.

Shutting up shop and hanging onto a 1-0 lead, is part of a long 46 game championship season, especially a team like ours which didn’t have the quality of a Leeds last season.

Those ‘embarrassing antics in pubs’ is a bloke who has to hear 30k+ people sing about shagging his daughter and he’s just got one over on em. It’s only football, and it’s only a song, no one died and everyone’s fine. It’s not that big of a deal.

You hate him badge slapping 😂. Whilst I get why people might not like it, it’s called passion and it’s why we loved him first time round.

I honestly think given the fact that without Wilder we’d never of had the best football journey ever, the stick he gets is so embarrassing and honestly makes me think we’ve got a shit fan base, and I don’t understand why a good manager would come near us.

I was comfortable knowing a new system would take time and we may lose a few along the way

But to play an average Swansea side and register zero shots on target is pretty fuckin shocking

I’d ask Gus where he wants to play, and how he wants the team to work for him, then do it.

Best player in league and he was invisible, that’s nothing to do with owners/signings etc, the the system implemented by the manager

Please can you point me in the direction of where Rohl sang about Wilders daughter ? Also two wrongs don't make a right. It was embarrassing end off.

I get that some fans like the badge slapping, i personally don't but if it turns you on fair do's.

Shutting up shop while ok maybe for the odd game constantly doing it week in week out becomes boring.

I think we have a strange fan base that cannot seem to move on from Wilder.
He walked out when the going got tough and bottled the play off final.

It was a song at Sheffield Wednesdays expense, if he can’t handle being sung about being a bloody sausage roll than being in football isn’t for him, Wilder’s took a lot worse.

If you don’t want a badge slapped no problem, maybe managers that don’t care about United are the ones you want.

Put it this way, it almost got us promoted and then you can rethink it. Now look at us, 5 mins without wilder and we’re desperately awful again.

I think we have a strange fan base who can’t get over how he left the first time. Get over it.

It's almost as if we had the right manager but decided to sack him because he didn't want to sign ChatGPT's recommended players from the footballing hotbed that is the Bulgarian First Professional Football League.

Or more likely it could be we had a manager that blew the chance of getting to the Premiership.

No it wasn't it was about Rohl no mention of Wednesday in the song.
Where did Wilder take alot worse from a fellow Manager ?

I would like a manager that gets the job done and celebrates at the end of the season, not slapping the badge on a Tuesday night in November.

How ever way you look at it he failed.
There are no prizes for almost.
Exactly 5min he's been in charge surely any manager even Megson needs longer than 2 games.
Also you never answered my question if Wilder had stayed and lost the first two league games and got knocked out of the cup would you be calling for change ?

I think we have a strange fan base that cannot see United without Wilder. He's gone hopefully for good get over it.

Answers on a very tiny postcard please !
It’s just not working, you can see that from the stands. Yesterday the gap between the defence & midfield & midfield to attack was crazy. They were threading balls through so easily & Swansea are a bang average side too.

Selles needs to change things & quickly or he will be sacked.

To answer your questions we should go for tried & tested with a previous history of promotion. We don’t have the resources as a club to take a gamble of someone like Selles because financially we need to get back up.

So the tiny postcard gives you names like Dyche & Cooper

The year is 2045, man has established a colony on the moon and blades are still arguing whether Chris Wilder should still be manager.

Doesn't matter if we think he should or shouldn't have gone. He has gone and bringing him back now would be madness. No one sane, sacks someone and then 2 months later brings them back after selling off 3 first team players.

If I was him I wouldn’t want to come back either, it’s completely pointless.

When I first read about that take risks and fail fast thing it had me concerned. I worked in an American company where the top guy in IT used to say that to his managers - if you're not making mistakes every day you're not taking enough risks. The result was complete chaos.

I can see us appointing Nick Montgomery with Billy Sharp as his assistant, it’s what the fan base is comfortable with.

Chaos is fine as long as the end result is one of achievement !

Regardless of who the manager is, there aren't enough good players available

You’re right but the players we have aren’t as bad as the performances show, if we lost yesterday but you could see a tactical insight into what’s being built I think most would accept it’s just a stutter start.

Yesterday we had Cooper, Burrows, Robbo, Peck, Hamer, Campbell, O’hare & Hamer 8 players who played the majority of the games last season and got over 90 points. We created nothing all game & defensively we were all over the shop, that’s a tactical issue

Agree with that. But better than yesterday isn't enough. Need to finish 2nd or better

This is the worrying thing for me. The main cause of our issues stems from the top. Any manager would struggle having pivotal players sold from under him and the slow timing (at best) of similar standard of replacements brought in. I’m not saying Sella’s is blameless but by God, them at the top arent half making things 10X more difficult for him, imo

Edit: The players (from last seasons 92 point winners) look like confidence has been sapped out of them.

Is ‘badge slapping’ really that much of an issue for you that you’d not want a manager in charge who does it? If a manager gets us playing good, exciting, match winning football I wouldn’t care whether he slapped the badge, his arse or my neighbour’s dog tbh.
I kinda like the ‘badge slapping’, especiallyafter a good away perforance and win. That kinda pashun isnt for everyone tho I guess, which is fair enough I suppose

I can certainly agree that you won’t have to worry about shutting up shop on a 1-0 lead with the current set up!
