The fee for Souza was miraculous

Money back for Hamer would be good, realistically. It will probably be the starting point for us

So I wouldn't have a problem with selling him, but I don't know what the fuck they'd spend it on so it might be better just to keep him, as a known quantity at this level

Prince used to get decent fees to be honest. Under the new administration the Souza fee was a bit light. Let’s see how they do on the next few outgoings when they come.
Depends really, a no show season in top flight and then a good season, despite not playing 15 games, in the champsionship. i think the amount we got was good value for money as i dont think he can hack it at PL level where we would be challenging if we do go up.

We may have to take less than £20m IF Hamer pushes for it. I don't get the impression he is but he could very feasibly get his head turned.

Think they would already have made an offer rather than just preparing one tbh
Preparing a bid is like some naff hold music, you haven't actually spoken to anyone yet and if nothing happens...did you ever say it was going to? I could be preparing a bid for a million pounds house, doesn't mean they'll accept my slightly furry Curly Wurly from underneath the sofa.

We are preparing a bid for Rodri.

Selling all our assets is not good. Well certainly if promotion is our aim

Selling your two best midfielders, when three others are also injured and wont start the season is going to leave us threadbare to say the least.

There's been rumours all pre season about Peck potentially leaving too.

Going to have to do some nifty recruitment if some or all of this happens, preferably not just from Bulgaria.

It’s worry. Maybe the real reason they got rid of Wilder is that he’d lined up players needing investments & they knew that they could not back him. Hence why we are now apparently focused on youth & frees & loans under Selles?

Let’s see where we are in 6 weeks time at the end of the transfer window. I think that will tell us all we need to know about whether COH have the funds to back us or not. 100% if they can’t back us this summer whilst we still have £40 million of parachute money - god help us next summer!

Always depends on what you do with the money. Say you get Devine phillips and Antman for the Hamer money? Then 4 loans would we not be stronger?

I would like to keep him but see the benefit of selling

The only thing CW would have lined up is a round of Peronis.

if we get any bid of 20m plus for hamer im sure we will sell but theres no way we are getting that upfront as one poster has suggested no club pays that way nowadays including us i think this wouter burger could well be coming in hes big physical and athletic we need somebody of that stature in midfield now souza has gone

I will be rather pissed off if we sell Hamer, unless we have a quality replacement already lined up, and replacing a player like his is always a real challenge.

I said last week that I was happy for us to take our time in this window and strengthen key positions. What I hadn't expected us to do was weaken the one area where we are quite strong. Souza AND Hamer leaving sets us right back in midfield, and just adds to the list of things to do in a short space of time.

How does a club agree personal terms with a player that is under contract at another club, before the club has agreed a fee with the selling club...thats tapping up by the agent or interested club.

Report the cunts to UEFA.

Oh and let them know Barry Banana in S6 is available for nowt.

This happens all the time. Players and clubs talk through intermediaries.

Its quite rare these days that players agree terms after a bid has been accepted.

Burrows and Hamer only first xi not starting at York. A bit worried not starting our obiously most central player.

Let's give Selles and the owners some credit.
We don't have to sell Hamer and if we do its not that they'll just realise we've sold our best midfielders.
I suspect if hes sold it will be dependant and having replacements lined up .
Think we should see how this plays out before jumping the gun .
The club tends to play its cards very close to its chest these days
