After the humiliation of last season it’s so bloody great to be sitting top of the league with clear water between us and the supposedly ‘Champions elect’ Leeds United. Their triumphant march to their destiny as the next media EPL darlings was somewhat challenged today with a 93’ og equaliser against the galacticos of Preston NE

So, those Blades fans who were ‘appalled’ by our performance today and who think we were ‘shit’ please do think back to last season and the self entitled EPL fans who abused and ridiculed us on a weekly basis for the whole miserable season. Plymouth were really good today, they pressed, they harried and they played with commitment and passion….and we still won. Don’t succumb to self entitlement syndrome. We are earning our bid for promotion with every hard earned point over every blade of grass and every scrapped out, time wasting, well managed victory.

Get a grip, enjoy, support and strap in for the ride. Not happy clappy stuff, just my thoughts as a fan who stood on the terraces of Hartlepool and Darlington and would have given my right arm to have been back in this position again!

I doubt anybody isn't happy with how the season has gone so far. We weren't good today, I don't see a problem with acknowledging that. The ground is the place for blind support imo but outside of that, as people who love football it's also interesting to discuss how and why we were bad.

You obviously weren't on here between 3 and 5 then

Good post, and I think most blades share the view.

I think we're just desperate to feel like we have a style of play if we go up. Something to hang out hat on, which we didn't have last year, and we've still got football PTSD from.

So when we don't see progression/ consistent rolling out of a style, criticism/moaning is probably mostly driven by fear of next season. It is by me anyway.

Top post!

Last season we were the laughing stock of the premier league and it hurt us as fans to see us like that, especially as some of those self entitled EPL fans are just glory supporters (mainly some of these premier league content creators) who would have turned their backs on their clubs had they been in league 1 for six years like us.

Give me proper EFL fans and the proper EPL fans who support their team through thick and thin any day of the week.

Funny isn't it the amount of fans who were "perfectly entitled" to criticise the performances under Heck y when we got promoted but aren't allowed to criticise the (worse) performances under Wilder now?

Yes, we should be very happy to be top of the league but any sensible fan will look at the performances and the results and realise it's unlikely the latter will continue unless the former pick up.

And imagine how shit we'll be next season in the EPL playing like this. Think 0 points.

No you were all moaning wankers then as well

Really wasn't a fun game to watch today but it's another one where we go one up and for all Plymouth were a lot better than I hoped/expected I never really felt it was in doubt. One scare in the first half and that's about it for me. They were getting a lot of joy against Gilchrist but not turning it into a whole lot.

Also thought that for as thin as the squad is Wilder's subs changed things for much the better. Moore and McCallum were winning it high up the pitch when we'd been struggling to get forward.

I'll also say I saw so much from Leeds fans last season and a few games this about how many teams came to make life hard for them, usually some tears about a "low block". Well, we're finding ways to win those games and we deserve a hell of a lot of credit for that.

We've top.of the table with a waifer then squad and relying on kids from the academy to fill the gaps.

In my opinion the manager has worked a minor miracle to get us to where we are.

Yet people complain. Unbelievable

If Moore can learn to kill a ball though. His close control was dire today. Made some decent runs though and gave them some problems.

🥱🥱🥱

Look. We are all happy with the result, the performance? Shit, I never saw that coming, I can accept no game is guaranteed whoever you are playing but today seemed like a pre season friendly, they must be wondering how they haven't got something out of the game, as I say, take the result because in a couple of days the performance will be forgotten.

Wilder has done a phenomenal job. I was against he reappointment but he's won me round. I just think it can't last. As you say. Thin squad. Relying on players who would have struggled for a league 1 loan. We need to bring in more in the JTW and yet the takeover farce just keeps on rolling.

“Fucking shit” isn’t really sensible criticism though is it?

I think half a season is sufficient to say that even if we perform second half as we have the first, we'll be looking good for autos.
No Souza today, no Anel, no Campbell and although the performance was pretty dire, we got the points with zero conceded....again!
Remember Leeds only beat these 1-0 at home.
Forget Cardiff and Norwich scoring more than us against them, because as with all the teams we've played recently who've raised their game, I suspect Roy's 'View From' will include plenty of comments along the lines of 'Best we've played all season, went toe to toe with an ex-Premier league side and deserved something from that'
That's the challenge we've been facing most if not all season, and thankfully come through it all with W14 D5 L2.

I have every faith in Wilder using his previous experience to see us over the line, even with minor investment in the JTW if the takeover doesn't happen.

Christ. We're going through a lean spell of form, for various reasons, and yet we still manage to grind out wins and draws.

Look at the forum chat. Full of muppets they want to moan.

Whilst everyone wants to see United playing exciting and incisive football, it should be remembered that a manager’s job doesn’t always include both of those in his strategy - his job is to win matches against a large array of opposing teams and plan accordingly.

If we’re three matches from the end of the season and uncatchable, he can pick a team that will be more entertaining and tell them to get on with it.

Not before.
