Well played Plymouth

Thought they passed it around really well, we struggled to get possession at times. If they had an end product it could have been a very different result. We were poor for large parts, but a win is a win. UTB!

Fair play to them for coming and having a go. On another day, they get a result. Had some great chances and the lions share of possession.

Thought they were terrible. They played a team that sat off them, didn't press, defended deep and lost every 2nd ball. Despite that, and all the possession they had they created nothing.

A half decent side would have given us problems today, a piss poor Plymouth side didn't.

On another day Plymouth could have gotten something out of today, but if you can't take your chances you won't get anything out of the game, especially when you miss an open goal.

That's why their at the bottom of the league, they can play decent football but they can't take their chances when it matters.

We can take our chances and that's why we can still win games when we're not playing well.

They’d got some good athletes and some tidy players but United were absolutely piss poor in possession and just kept giving it then back.

Their delivery in to the box was shocking: how many times did they cross is straight out of play or 20 yards over everyone’s head.

We made them look better than they are by just giving them so much time.

Just lacked some firepower much like Millwall in the week. I still didn’t ever feel like we were going to concede though - I guess that’s confidence for ya!!

Plymouth have been ok when I have seen them play this season. Obviously have the odd stinker like you would expect from a squad of plymouths calibre but I don't think Rooney is doing as bad a job as people want him to.

Very definition of winning ugly, but we are 2 points better off over Leeds than this morning

They were the best team today and with better finishing ( which due to lack of is why they are in a relegation fight)
created nothing my arse, they waisted three golden chances today and one excellent save from cooper

If they could shoot they’d have won, however we had an 18 year old up front, a kid and a returning crock in midfield and apart from 2 or 3 players we played like a set of idiots.

They did well in the context of the game but we were shite and won in 2nd gear.

I think winning ugly sometimes is pointing towards a " possible" Promotion side not watched today's game, I've seen enough to know our defence is the best we've had for a while ( who's the defensive coach ? )
January we need 4 , centre half,2 attacking midfielders (who can play across the 3 ) and another mobile forward
Xmas wish on top of these , central midfielder but I know we can't have everything 🥺

Perhaps their cup final of sorts . If they play like that every week should be ok

Not sure how much Plymouth were good as opposed to how much we were poor?

I thought we were leggy, short of ideas and a few players were off it today.

Perhaps the run of games we’ve had, especially we’ve had to put a shift in to get the result ( Millwall 3 days ago) is beginning to take its toll?

Having said that, Plymouth didn’t look a bad side. More that they lack a cutting edge

3 points, we move on

I echo all of that. Plymouth are also missing their best attacker.

They did alright. Looked tidy in possession, not afraid to pass it around, play it out from the back, and look to attack quickly. Just lacking quality up top and a final ball, which I guess is partially them just getting it wide and crossing for the sake of crossing. Think they'll be alright, but I did say the same after we played at Portsmouth, and I doubt I can be right about both of them

Their midfield rami al huj or whatever he's called was brilliant first half. 2nd half peck didn't give him chance but forfeited his own game. They played well let's be honest but got nothing

They, like Oxford, came and tried to outplay us. Unlike Oxford, they did it for long spells of the game. Honestly I couldn't have complained if they'd got something. We were woeful for long spells. Decent following from them as well, for what is a shitty journey. Glad we got the 3 points, and another clean sheet for super Cooper.

Thought it was interesting how they targeted Gilchrist, knowing Rak Saki was not helping him much. They looked like a side that had been coached well and had a plan which was not what I was expecting from the fat granny shagger. They ran out of ideas though once wilder tightened up with the subs.

On a post designed to give plymouth a bit of credit, you decided to bash United ...
We are top of the championship....
I guess you wasn't around in the 80s ...

Rooney decided that his team should play the Manchester United way, it wont work for them as they dont have enough quality players to play the Manchester United way.

I thought they played really well, definitely the best team in the first half.
Centre mid with a beard was quality and they had pace going forwards.
Play like that and they’ll stay up.

Also a great away following the week before Christmas👍👍👍

I think the Mike Phelan input helped them even though he`s only been there a week. Their number 6 had a very good game.
