The only silver lining of the Arblaster injury is there are a tonne of decent CM's in the premier league not getting game-time. Who would you like to see us go after?

Philip Billing - Not getting on the pitch for Bournemouth this season, would be fantastic at this level.
Hamza Choudhury - Got himself in trouble a few times, but wouldn't matter too much if he's only here for 6 months.
Tyler Morton - Did really well at Hull last season, currently rotting in the Liverpool U21s
Ethan Brierley - Almost had him but the embargo screwed us over. Not getting any minutes for Brentford.

Alex Scott hasn't had much game time at Bournemouth this season, 3 substitute appearances I believe.

They paid 20 million for him a couple of seasons ago

Completely different type of player to Arblaster, wouldn’t work in his position. I’d be rotating Peck & Davies with Shackleton as cover.

Do you know of any goalscorers who are not getting any games in PL teams coz that's what we really need ?

Every Southampton striker who isn't a starter is a good championship goalscorer. Stewart, BBD, Onuachu, Cornet... Ridiculous collection of "too good for championship, not good enough for prem" players.

Cheers Adder - that looks like fertile ground for us - I suppose from the Saints pov , they will want to have them all available for the battle - but maybe there's one who would prefer to play rather than sit around

Kinell, Marcus Stewart is still going??

Peck has to be first choice standin....... inquire about Tyler Morton.............if Davies pulls up injured again or he looks not upto the job.......

Tyler Morton is a very good shout.
With it being a big club, you might be able to land him earlier in the window too.

Struggling teams with thinner squads are going to tend towards waiting until the end of the window before letting anyone out.

Billing didn't fancy the Championship so may end up abroad.

Choudhury, if he could keep fit, would be a good shout. But I think that's tended to be a big "if."

Brierley maybe too much of a gamble.

Tommy Doyle perhaps?

I'd be interested to know how many left wingers are potentially available for loan.

If we’re gonna be getting a couple more expensive prem loans they need to be attacking players given thats where we’re short.

unless we switch hamer i think a goalscoring midfielder is needed weve got souza peck and davies who all fill the holding midfielder role fwiw i would love to see us go 4312 with hamer the advanced midfielder supporting 2 strikers

Just had a quick scout through Transfmrkt for players - most already mentioned on here:

PlayerClubPositionLeaue games played this season
Hamza ChoudaryLeicesterCDM14 mins
Tyler MortonLiverpoolCDM0 - on bench last 5
Philip BillingBournemouthCMabout 20 mins - on bench for last 3
Ryan TrevittBrentfordCM3 mins - on bench bar last 3
David BrooksBournemouthRM5 games (60 mins) - 1 goal
Ben Brereon-DiazSouthamptonST7 games - only 17 mins since September
Ross StewartSouthamptonST4 games - not in squad since first week of October
Will LankshearTottenhamST0 - on bench last 2
Will OsulaNewcastleSTabout 10 mins - on bench all season

Morton, BBD and a cheeky ask for Lankshear for me but thats probably dreaming (and David Brooks if we're being really greedy)

Not much if we don't want to go for Brereton Diaz, would probably have to look abroad (I daren't say Emmanuel Dennis or that bloody thread will pop back up.)

Probably be on high wages but what about someone like Tom Cairney, experienced player who should be class in the championship, not sure how much he's played for Fulham this season.

Billing would be class (linked over the summer) but would he drop down to the championship?

If it's a young lad, Lewis Miley isn't getting a game at Newcastle

For more experience, Harrison Reed isn't getting a game at Fulham

You sign BBD and move Hamer into his favoured position
thats the obvious thing to do and i think bbd would come back to the lane hamers involvement in both our goals at coventry just shows how we are wasting his talent stuck out on the left get o'hare out there hes doing nothing in the position hes been asked to play all season were playing both these lads in the wrong positions imo

Whoever we sign on loan (striker, CM, or both), I would hope that we are looking at more senior pros rather than up-and-coming starlets. This is quite a young team, and one that could potentially benefit from some additional experience, particularly for those bigger games against the likes of Leeds and Boro.

The other advantage of a loan signing is that you don't suffer the depreciation in player value, so there aren't the same financial risks for borrowing a 31 year old as there are for signing one on a 3-year contract.

Wasn’t that his supposed stance in the summer? Wonder if that has changed being sat on the bench?

I think that was his stance this summer, kept seeing him linked with us and Leeds but neither of us got him, at the time i think he was holding out for a premier league move, strange really as Bournemouth don't often loan players out to other premier league teams.

Hopefully Billing might have changed his mind and might be willing to drop down to the championship but who knows.
