Seen a lot of names mentioned for man of the match, but not seen Moore mentioned. He was absolutely immense today, won everything in the air, didn't let their defence settle and worked his bollox off. I like how he tries to direct his flick-ons/headers to one of his teammates. A proper target man performance.

Agree mate, he distracts defenders, allowing space to open for others. We're joint top and he's played every game, WTF are people not seeing in Moore's contribution? He wasn't signed as a top scorer, instead he's doing a good job each time he plays and the way he takes opposing players out of position is invaluable.

The biggest indicator of how effective he is, is how bad we were for 45 minutes against Swansea without him in the side.

Could see it on Wednesday and again when he came off today, we have to play a different way when he isn't on the pitch.

When Moore plays, we can use him as an outlet to get the ball upfront quickly, especially when we are being pressed by the opposition, kicking the long ball up to Moore so he can bring it down or head it on is one of Moore's best strengths.

When he's not on the pitch, we can't play that way as Campbell (who has replaced/been replaced by Moore in both games) cannot win those balls like Kieffer, he seems like the type of player who wants balls played into space so he can run onto them.

The number of times he's won the ball high up the pitch and we've got an attack off it, or the number of times he's made a great first touch and got the midfield in, he deserves a lot of credit. He's not quite clicking with the midfield but he's no more wasteful than some of them have been in the last few games. Needs a goal but his all round play is better than what McBurnie would've given us.

I didn’t really see much of Ipswich last season but as side, but we must be frustration for a striker to play in, in terms of scoring goals.

Whilst we are starting to create a fair amount now, they aren’t the early ball onto the box, beat a man and whip on a cross type chances.
We overplay around the box all the time, often when there is a clear chance to get a ball in.

As such the actual chances we make aren’t always ones which are made for the striker.

Moore plays a part for the team rather than for himself

Wouldn't have him anywhere near the bench, never mind a starting shirt... doesn't contribute with goals... all he does is runaround and lets players run into spaces he created, the daft twat, had he stood there all along hed be in the space.... jesus, some people think if a forward isnt scoring a minimum of 1 in 2 they are shit...

7 in 18 for Ipswich
1 in 9 for us
I don't think things are going as great as people are saying.

There's more nuance to it than that.

Just watch how we attack. Nobody is teeing up Moore in the middle. Everyone is cutting inside to get a shot off.
Our build-up play is too patient at times and Moore ends up crowded out.

He should have buried his penalty and he should have done better with one or two other opportunities, but I don't think he's a problem. His all round play is excellent as the OP describes.

Today sublime. Simple as that, as they all were.

Other games not so great. Decision making has been off and he’s missed a couple sitters.

But you can’t knock his overall contribution. And he hasn’t had any moments in his last 3 games where I’ve thought ‘that was the wrong option’ - even the Pompey game where he was for some reason getting some slavver on here.

Man mountain today up top, won everything and held the ball up well. Their centerbacks would have been relieved when he got subbed, one if his best games since joining us today and deserved a goal.

I`ll give a shout for Callum`s workrate and effectiveness; and also Vini for not getting booked.

I guarantee you if you brought in a more 'lethal' finisher like an Archer or someone, both our big chances created and xG would be quite significantly lower.

Moore is absolutely invaluable to how we play... him scoring is just the icing on the cake.

I thought he was unplayable again. He gives defenders a horrible time. First to very ball, links up well and is visibly very physical. I’d hate to play against him.

Superb performance.

His fitness is currently the biggest risk to our progress. There’s no one else who can bring what he does.

Back to goal, he’s a tremendous player at this level. Workrate, power, selflessness, experience, and occasional touches of class. We know his shortcomings, but it’s up to other players to compensate for them. That’s just how teams work outside the prem.

If we can dig up another Washing Machine or another Wayne Allison in January then I’ll be happier. A load of people would moan, but unless we come into money, that’s exactly what we need.

I would add to other comments here that much of the time he is competing for the ball with no/few Utd players near him. He has to work really hard to win possession, and then keep the ball to let other players join him. There was a worrying moment before half-time when he was injured; he would be impossible to replace until
January.

Might even be difficult to get some competition for him in January (in terms of a good loan signing from an EPL team), we play with 1 striker up top which means its competition for one place, rather than the 2 strikers we've had in recent years.

Most of these EPL loan players come in to play games, competing with a striker we've spent a small fee on (especially one as integral as Moore) makes that harder, plus Tyrese Campbell is our direct competition for Moore.

There is a likely reason why Tom Cannon has gone to Stoke after being linked with us, he's guaranteed game time there with very little competition whereas with us, he would have been competing with Moore and Campbell for 1 position.

If we can't get an EPL loan to cover/compete with Moore, then we might have to look to League 1/2 for some competition, which might not be easy given what options will be available and if they are good enough.

We were linked with Ricky Jade-Jones last summer, think someone mentioned that he's out of contract next summer and hasn't signed a new deal yet, and Peterborough aren't anywhere near the top 6 at the moment.

He'd be competing with Moore and would have got plenty of game time in rotation.

Campbell is a wide forward.

RJJ is absolutely woeful.
