Talking of which. Probably one for my fellow ancient Blades. How come we never scouted Banks as he comes from Sheffield? I know we had Hodgy but always wondered. Never said anything about Utd or Weds in his autobiography. Saw him in the Sky Bobby Moore tribute prog that's doing the rounds.

Do yourself a favour....go over to the Plymouth site.....they are in full melt down mode.

When Roy does his fans feedback.....it's going to be the best we've ever seen.
They all say he's the real deal and probably Premier league level......they think they've been robbed and can't understand what's just happened.

However one did say they are in the sticks....many miles from the rest of the UK.....so maybe they think he's better than he is.
They say that would explain why it seems that only 1 club (Sheffield Utd) were interested in him
.......they were convinced there would be an auction for his services pushing the price up.
They all say we've got ourselves an absolute bargain.

I've gone through most of the 130 page thread! It's mostly really good but there are few concerns about his height and his injury record

He is the same height as Rushworth 6ft 2" And how tall was Hodgy?

Agree...it was years before I even knew he was even from Sheffield, thought it was made up, apparently he was brought up in Tinsley.
Nothing ever mentioned in the media. Which team did he support growing up as a lad? Seems like it wasn't either Sheffield team which is unusual.

He ended up settling in the Stoke area and always had massive links and a strong love towards Stoke City.
Wonder what his issue was with Sheffield and why he wasn't more recognised and acknowledged as a Sheffield son.

I read his autobiography, he did go to matches at both BDTBL and S6 if he wasnt playing football on that day but didnt support either team, preferred to watch the goalkeepers and studying them

I've seen Cooper at 1.86m (6'1") and 1.88m (6'2"). For context...

David Raya is 1.83m (6')
Jordan Pickford, Wes Foderingham and Adam Davies are 1.85m (6'1")
Ederson, Dean Henderson and Aaron Ramsdale are 1.88m (6'2")
Previously-linked Anthony Patterson is 1.89m (6'2")

Obviously he's miles behind James Beadle at 1.98m (6'6") but Ivo Grbić is 1.95m (6'5") and we know how good he is(n't)
 

If he comes through and Jrs really pleased with this. Was very worried at first with how slow things did progress. However we've added really quality to the side. By sounds of it a keeper that can play from back and looks to play quick. Hats of to the wilder and everyone involved with this window. Been a cracking one. And actually makes me excited about this season now.

Watching Sinclair banging SW would be quite an attractive spectacle tbh -

Interesting stuff .
Think height in modern keeping matters most in crosses and corners .
Most forwards are told to keep it down, head it down etc which probably means a keeper who can get down quicker is more effective .

You need to up your game Roygbiv . It's onto page 173 atm..............admittedly the last 20 pages or so are full meltdown mode at the price tag. 😆
