I love how people talk, with confidence, about other clubs situations like some do when they're so wrong 🤣

Just off the top comments:
“Sheffield United splashing the cash again, so boring having the same clubs going up and down every season. Parachute payments really are a joke, gives teams like Sheffield United and Burnley a huge advantage!” - we've literally made money in this window. At a huge margin.

“Sheffield Utd are collecting players which, in my view, is as bad as not having enough. Too many players lose both heart and interest and the continuous change in the 11 never get to gell as one team.” - We have 1 striker, no wingers, 1 proper right back, and no actual goalkeeper of a decent standard. But apart from that...

Thanks Roy, it's great to read a "view from" where we've got a chance.
"parachute payments" "loads of players" are Preston playing us?

Both those comments are talking out of their arse.

Better to be a yoyo team than one that’s achieved fuck all since Noah’s Ark was a thing.

A place so beige it makes Coventry look like Vegas.

Cheers Roy

I think there was one comment that was actually a realistic view of us, otherwise they’ve got a very inflated view of our situation.
Tbf, I wouldn’t have a clue who their team is now.

Cheers roy, for your sanity i really hope this seasons view from are better than last year, that must have been a real chore at times. Anyway these seem like us last year just waiting for a loss

Fucking he'll Roy, its non stop for you at the moment isn't it!!
Anyway, dont let me keep you, you've got a Rak-Sakyi view from to do and maybe one for the new keeper!!😉👀

Cheers pal👍

I know I might be taking this comment a bit too literally but here goes:

In 1888-89 Preston won the League without losing a game. (I remember this from reading about the history of football as a kid.)

While I was fact-checking my sometimes dodgy memory, I learned they also won the FA Cup that season without conceding a goal.

Before that in 1887 they also beat Hyde 26-0 in the FA Cup, which is still the largest margin of victory in an English League or Cup game.

Ok. While double fact-checking this I also learned that 1888-89 was the first League season.

Looking at that table:
  • all those teams are in the League (Accrington are the only ones who have dropped out and returned?)
  • half the teams are in the Championship this season
  • and Everton finished just above the relegation places
(TBF all of this is a while ago, but history is a while ago. Preston are a team with an important place in the history of football.)

it will be the easiest 3 points they will get all season .we have s keeper who can not catch a cold. We play a system that needs wingbacks but don’t have any .we have strikers who can’t score goals”

“Our keeper isnt League 1 ,far too kind he is pub league standard”

“I agree about Wilder being overrated, he’s living on short term success a few years ago and is very unlikeable“

Well Roy, that’s the view from Sheffield United, when’s the Preston view coming?
Post office the year

Notts County as well were out of the top 4 leagues for a while. Just came back a season or 2 ago when they signed Didzy

Well researched and fair enough, to be fair I was being a bit of an arse, it’s one of my “qualities” 🤣

Different Accrington. That Accrington are not Accrington Stanley.

It’s interesting to hear what other clubs think of us so early. To be honest I couldn’t tell you who Preston have signed or have the slightest idea about how they might fair this season.

Pretty sure they started really well last season then spunked their load midway through to end up being bang average.

They seem to be to be always around 8th - 14th, occasionally dabbling higher.

Likewise I don’t really know what to expect from us so early on. Any win would be great just to start off on a high and wipe out the -2.

Cheers Panchero!

A while ago....it's nearly 150 years ago.

The last major thing we won was nearly 90 years ago, they've put 60 years on that.

If they're not the very definition of beige, then they're magnolia or mushroom white.
