To no-one's surprise Jags easily won the no.6 shirt leaving the dream squad as follows:

1. Paddy Kenny
2. Matt Lowton
3. Wayne Quinn
4. Nick Montgomery
5. Chris Morgan
6. Phil Jagielka.

On the nightmare side, we need a run off between Hunt, Curle, Nosworthy, Ertl and Hill all of whom got a big round zero (Ertl did get one vote, but is so obviously a joke I have disallowed it). See the other thread.

Time for the no.7, which is probably also going to go only 1 way. I don't think any of the 7's were stand out awful, so no designated nightmare candidates on this one.

7's played under other numbers as follows:

Murphy: no 5 2000-03
Brown: no. 37 1999-2000
Shaw: no. 30 2004-06
Flynn: no. 11 2011-12

Brownie for me, although Ifill's contribution to a promotion winning squad runs him close...

Has to be Brownie , anyone that can hit a peach of a shot to score v the pigs like that , well say's it all really .

I'm voting for Luton Sheldon.

Michael Brown is still the best player I've ever seen play for us.

I'll never forget that 4-1 win away at Grimsby in March 2003 where he single handedly ran the entire match from start to finish.

And of course he scored the greatest ever goal in a Sheffield derby.

I am being critical of him. I thought he was quite shit really.

Harsh that. He scored and created goals, granted he could be anonymous for 70 mins some games but he would almost always do something to create a chance. Typical winger really, talented but frustrating. Still better than most of our current players.

Before i clicked on "Michael Brown" i looked through the list...and thought if anybody else gets a single vote it's ridiculous. Then saw the results and nobody else had. You just know some gimp will ruin it by putting in a comedy vote for...well any of em really.

Fair enough. I didn't. I thought he was slow with a poor touch. Different people see different things I suppose.

Absolutely. We all see things differently. The beauty of the game I suppose.

Well said. Keith Edwards could be pretty anonymous for large parts of a match, but when he made his presence felt he usually won us the game.

Brown is getting the sort of vote that the Communists used to get in Albania in Enver Hoxha's day...

I thought ifill was a huge disappointment, another one of those players that you see play against us and think 'we need someone like that' only for everything you admired to be seemingly removed on signing.

He scored almost as many goals as our highest scoring striker during the promotion season. I don't know how many assists he had, but he certainly chipped in with a few.

Edit. His strike rate for us was better than at any other British club.

I was really pleased when we signed him and I take your point, but for me I expected more and generally felt like he could have done so much better. It's only my opinion of course!
