well i thought worrall was nailed on to come in but its all gone very quiet on that front could be now it looks like anel is staying we may have cooled our interest in him definetly need another striker and keeper in ings would be a great signing if we could afford him he would score for fun at this level

Its actually mad the level of technical ability and flair that youngsters coming through the academies have these days.

This type of player would be rare 20 years ago but prem academies are full of these types.

Either way looks like he could be a wise loanee for us.

We are still a GK short and still quite short in depth/competition. Without counting academy players. But realistically you'd think only 2-3 max academy players new to this season will make the step up to be part of matchday squads consistently. That is likely to be Seriki, Peck, One, Marsh etc.

But on paper, and that is never good to count on. Our summer signings seem to be decent. Time will tell of course.

Someone like Cannon as a CF loan to compete with K Moore, maybe Tyrese Campbell as a wide forward freebie punt, or Liam Millar for a fee.
A couple of extra bodies in midfield, Stuart Armstrong would be great on a free and maybe a deep lying type like Kenny McClean (Norwich) or Matt Grimes (Swansea) for a relatively modest fee.
All have been linked and all would be decent enough squad additions. If we've learned anything from recent seasons, its that we will need the numbers. We already have injuries!
I've been fairly impressed with the quality we've brought in, but we need far more numbers. 6/7 to go in my opinion and only two loan spots left to use. So without a pot to piss in, we'll have to sell one of Anel / Souza to fund the rest of the window. My preference would be the former.

Good post CM. I'd like us to go for Tyrese Campbell as I think there is a really good player in there, and for no initial fee it makes good business sense to me.

I agree but I don’t see Arblaster being dropped for him and I don’t think we can play a 2 of Arblaster and Harmer with 4 at the back.

With it looking like we will be playing with an out and out winger at RW and a more defensive RB (Gilchrist) maybe that will allow Hamer/Slimani to come inside with Burrows/McCallum overlapping down the left.
