Player Suggestion Ki-Jana Hoever

I really can’t get my head around loaning out Curtis if we’ve not got another player signed to come in!

It just doesn’t add up!
 

I try to give the club the benefit of the doubt most of the time, but I have to say it's been poor over the last few weeks recruitment wise. After Moore and O'Hare signed on, I expected there to be a fairly consistent arrival of players coming in and strengthening the team/squad. Weeks later and we haven't added a single player. Yes we can say it's not happened for this or that reason but seriously how long does it have to take to negotiate a player (especially on a loan deal), get them in, give a medical and get it signed off. Of course we don't know the medical history of a target till we get em in doing a medical but even so, to have brought bugger all in since O'Hare and have nearly flogged another in the meantime is pretty incompetent. There should have been more in by now of that there is no doubt. 5 in isn't enough and it gets boring when it's always 'could be next week'. We've had all summer to line up targets and alternatives and still here we are thrashing around with a week to go to the first game.

The Spanish mouthpiece mentioned that we should have two in on Monday but we may not hear owt until the end of the week. Hey presto, the weekend arrives and we have tumble weeds going past the incoming door.

We have another month before the window shuts and more will come in. But I did expect a few more in by now, even if another 3 or 4. It's poor.
 
Considering there was supposedly an issue with McCallum and his medical too, maybe we're being ultra cautious in light of our injury issues over the last year or two?

Then again, if that's the case, why be interested in Dummett.

It's bizarre that we have a mouthpiece on X in Smith. Find it hard to believe he has so many updates anyway but if he does, it's fucking unprofessional.

Wasn't expecting Curtis to play this season anyway but surely we wouldn't loan him out with only Seriki currently available.

If only someone would make it all make sense.

I criticised others weeks ago for their stance and said I'd at least wait until August before being concerned.

With a week to the first game, I expected better prep than this tbh.

We did do a full on video etc for Iliman signing a new deal, before he’d even signed it. So it’s not beyond the realms of possibilities.

And Shackleton. I doubt it's the medical.

We just seem to take forever to get deals done and then the inevitable rumours of change and of heart/failed medicals spring up.
 
We’re all supposed to relax and stop being inpatient, but patience is wearing a bit thin when the season starts a week today

The size of the squad is very concerning.
A couple more injuries tonight and it could be a disaster?

We will be playing the youngsters within a few weeks of the season.
 
No way we get all the Curtis deal done before we get Hoever in - has anyone reputable confirmed he's failed a medical

After the shit show of last pre season, this pre season should have been the one that went well as we've literally known it would be a big one for about 12 months now. We forfeited last pre season and last season for... this pre season to yet again be planned pathetically. Wilder disowned Gribic 6 months ago and hes still here.🫠.

Even among the youngsters Curtis seems to be behind Seriki and Sachdev, so I'm not sure him going out on loan suggests that we have a RB immediately coming in.

But you'd think if Curtis is going to a team like Peterborough then Seriki or Sadchev would have had a similar quality loan?

Star auto reposts same stories every hour, I had to mute it 😅 people just putting two and two together assuming Hoever is the one that’s seemingly fell through since he was the one with the most press about joining, but I still reckon he’ll be in next week.

I'm sticking to the same optimism mate, until someone reputable (not that tit in Spain) confirms it either way
 
If photo's had been done, he must have passed medical, and signed. Something else must have happened, better offer elsewhere???? El Accounto did say "player", not club.
 

There could be any number of reasons why any number of players don't sign fir the club. Fair enough.

That said, we have had plenty of time now to get a few more through the door. That's the really annoying thing for me. To the point now that when we are strongly linked to a player and it's supposedly getting close, I expect it to go tits up at the end. Am I really surprised that seemingly another week has gone by this close to the season starting where we are really light on players and we have no new arrivals....? no not really. That isn't how it should be.
