Player Suggestion Ki-Jana Hoever

I think we are still working on 2 lists.
If Souza is sold,, for example, then it might open up list A.
I still think we'll be selling 3 more players before end August, so some of these incomings might drag on too.
Gilchrist and a keeper are a must next week though.
I think it was obvious certain players were held back in case offers came in. Souza, Anel and Hamer. Those offers haven't materialised just yet so we're now planning on having them in the squad. I suppose it reduces our urgency to get certain positions in. My main concerns are GK, CB and RB. Our defence still looks shaky at times and is still prone to making mistakes. We need a leader at the back which we don't currently have.

Agree, I think Souter might be plan B where Worrall was plan A though.
Still over 4 weeks before the end of the transfer deadline, so lots can change still - and change quickly.
I think the team we can put out early September might be 3-4 players different to the one we play against Preston.

Reasons to sign him - he looks good!

Reasons not to sign him - 1) has the potential to be the greatest ever misspelt Blades player name in all history and 2) he may compete with mccallum for best hair (season 2024/25) thus causing squad disharmony.

I think Worrall was definitely plan A. I'd imagine Forest want a permanent transfer but as things stand without the takeover we can only go for loans.

well if the latest reports that we havent got 3m for cooper are true worrall wont be coming in either so gilchrist and souttar on loan seem the most likely way we will go but robbo and trusty in a back 4 worries me theyve both got mistakes in them
Souttar, didn't want to come in the last window, so he can fuck off for me.

Agreed. I think Souza is the one that we can sell without causing an urgent need to replace him. Hopefully the reports from yesterday/today are true with Milan being interested.
Here's a scenario - would we take this?

Sell Souza, Gbric and Anel for around £32M.
Buy Worrall and M Cooper for around £7M, then loan Gilchrist, Bowler, Armstrong and Dummett
I am thinking of squad depth, experience, where we are desperate for cover and balancing the books.

Hopefully if we are in top 6/8 at January and take-over all done there will be £10-15M to invest in that window to cover the gaps.

sell souza next week and that gets us worrall cooper and either a right back or winger or both although shackletons injury might make us look at grimes or mclean again

I'd be more than happy with that. Although I think we're stuck with Gbric unless someone is as stupid as us to buy him.

I'd be more than happy to utilise the loan options this season. Or until Jan, hopefully by then the takeover will have definitely been finalised.

Not a bad shout, but I still think we need a completely new centre half duo I love JLT for his commitment but his age is starting to go against him (hope I'm wrong !!)

In a perfect world I would agree, but it won't happen this window.

I am still not seeing how Trusty suddenly becomes a decent defender at this lower level either. Then the fitness of RND is a complete unknown.
Could be next summer before we can sort all of that.

Absolute priority is a keeper and a right sided defender, they are needed before Preston.
The rest is to provide squad depth and competition.
We are still just a few injuries away from a very tough season........again.
I just want us to win more than we lose, play some good stuff, enjoy the matches again and go into games not thinking we'll lose, the rest will be what it will be.

I reckon Souza is on his bike and that might be it?

That should bring in enough revenue to sanction a couple of signings with fees and 2/3/4 loans
yes think your right 58 the souza money should enable us to get worrall and cooper and maybe another striker winger or right back it would be a good deal for us

R.E Trusty comment at lower level

He was comfortable one of the best defenders in the championship last time out.

And when compared to Anel in the same season the difference is staggering. Abel’s stats below 👇

Noticed he hasn’t been involved in any of Wolves pre-season games. That could be a sign he’s on his way out?

YorkBlade actually saying we're "close" to signing him in the title.

Surely Hal wouldn't put this without it being fairly well down the line 👀

Given the situation with Bogle going & Shackleton’s fitness a possible issue, we are short at right back - so this guy would be a good addition on loan.

Wouldn’t mind a loan signing place or even bid for permanent transfer due to his availability.

He got 9 goal contributions from RB last season for stoke, more goal contributions than any other stoke player. Looks to me like a younger version of Bogle with a touch of baldock if not better statistically. His agent is apparently trying to find him a new club because he’s down the pecking order at wolves. I’d have thought he would be on our radar, seems a shoe in of a good signing.

Very good highlight reel too….. Fucking Do WANT!

He looks absolutely perfect for the style we’ve been playing in pre season
