CONFIRMED Michael Cooper signs for the Blades

Argyle fan here. This has pretty much been confirmed by our ITKs and I'm absolutely gutted. We made Coops an offer that would have made him the highest paid player in our history but you've blown us out of the water with the four-year deal you've offered, which just goes to show the financial disparity in this league.

You're getting a quality keeper who can go all the way to the top. He isn't the tallest (which is probably why he hasn't been snapped up already), but pretty much all other areas of his game are top drawer - particularly his distribution.

There is some doubt over his knees but honestly I don't think it'll be a problem. It took him a while to get back to his best after he did his ACL (thanks to that dirty bastard Windass), and then suffered a less serious injury in his other knee that kept him out for a couple of months. But when he came back from that he was absolute quality for the rest of the season and statistically one of the best keepers in the Champ.

Apparently he had two offers from Prem clubs to go and be a No.2 and it says a lot about him that he'd rather stay in the Championship and play regular football. I hope you guys go up because Coops deserves to be a Premier League keeper and I hope it happens for him sooner rather than later.

He may be leaving, but I wouldn't count on it being to us. We've probably agreed a fee, but we seem to have agreed deals on other players only for our owner to be reluctant to follow through.

He's probably a deal we'll visit if the takeover goes through. Would be surprised if it's as imminent as you think.

Not really, it'll be the usual. Some kind of ball juggling, a serious means business pose with either folded arms or pointing, them sat holding a football and another where they're laughing prior to a photo being taken, whilst in the background there's some crap "music" playing.
 
But what if it's Burrows, Cooper, Worrall, Souttar, Bowler and Campbell doing some kind of love train/Bewitched "Rollercoaster" dance - at the end revealing John Textor behind them in a Blades shirt, while literally eating £50 notes from a cereal bowl?

Thanks for taking the time to come on and post I hope you’re right and he is coming here as he’s a player that I’ve looked at with envy for a while.

Commiserations on the financial side of things it’s something we’ve experienced ourselves plenty of times with fan favourite players and academy graduates and it does seem increasingly it’s becoming a game that’s more and more about financial power as opposed to good coaching and development.

I hope you guys put the money to good use and have a successful season it’s good to see you recover from the previous financial difficulties and seemingly get the club back onto a positive trajectory.

Really hope he comes. Long been a big admirer of him, quality keeper who can and will go to the top like you said.

Cheers for the info and hope this is true that he’s joining us.

Not sure the wages we pay are huge, we certainly won’t be paying the top wages in the league, which is why we’ve lost a few players and perhaps will lose more. But as you say, the disparity between our financial capability and yours is clearly a factor.

As you say though, his thoughts will also be on the expectations at both clubs, despite what our fans think, our club will be hoping to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking, tough task currently with the team and squad depth we have but players like Cooper are the right level of ambition to push us forward again

We may have agreed a deal for him but that doesn't mean anything when it comes to Sheffield United. Just add him to the list of players we're wasting the time of. We won't pull the trigger
