Yeah his age is a concern 32 in a few weeks so the contract takes him to 35 We were all saying Billy's legs had gone at that age. I hope we haven't paid a lot for him but who knows he could be a Shipperley type signing for us.

Ok, confession time. I stayed onto Owlstalk to see what they're saying on us as it's generally very funny.

A week ago they were laughing at us like we have done at them for the most part of the last twenty years. Suddenly Wednesday finishing fifth bottom in the Championship and then signing Max Lowe and a player from the Polish second division gives them the upper hand in the banter stakes it seems.

Kieffer Moore is an "ok" signing, no sell on value apparently. This coming from Wednesday who haven't to my knowledge barely had a sellable assets in the last twenty years and certainly not in last five because they spunked their money on players approaching 30 or they underachieved like Lucas João who to be fair had some skill which he showed at Reading

Then we sign O'Hare and they seem slightly less smug now. "Thought they had no money". No that's your lot Wednesday! Comedy gold as ever from them. They're set for their best season in years and I reckon that will be pushing midtable and yet you'd think they're set for the Champions League.

It’s not his fault he hasn’t the money

It’s the way he has allowed the club to be dragged through the dirt . It’s about how he took his eye off the ball and went missing for 18 months . It’s about not having any kind of recruitment plan or recruitment infrastructure. It’s about only showing up when we get promoted or to the Wembley semi but goes missing again when times get tough .

I have been told that there was serious concern about a health issue for part of that 18 months. None of us ever know the full story, only the bits that become public.

But I agree he needs to go for us to move forward.
