If what your saying is true, it is textbook corruption. No idea how you can suggest otherwise just because the corruption has business benefits.

Any business that rises to very top in any sector whether it's Apple, Pfizer, Tesla or whatever is corrupt.

If you think they're all squeaky clean, you live a naive life.

It's just how business at the very top works 🤷‍♂️

That is entirely compatible with what I said. That they all do it doesn't mean it's not corruption, does it?

Don't the Premier league have an "agenda" to keep Everton in the PL, according to S2.

If it was us (and it would never be us in a million years as we aint got any money) the 10 points would stand. Just another bit of proof that the PL is a farce.
BBC reporting this added Man City face 100 charges of breaching financial rules. Whats to bet they get off as well.
We will go down and have a decent season in the Champs next season. Our issue will be this time in March 2025 will we be in that position where we could go back up to the Pantomime League ? WTF happens then.

Prediction.
Everton to be deducted further points for the second charge once it's clear how many they can afford.
Man City to be deducted points once it's clear they can't win the league this year, but it won't quite be enough points to drop them out of the champions league.

I don't actually subscribe to the view that it's corrupt towards the fashionable teams or whatever. Everton are in no way a fashionable team.

I do subscribe to the fact that the league has only one aim and that's to avoid a lawsuit from the teams they punish. They want to be seen to be doing something, but more important, operationally, is that they do nothing of any substance.

Good to see Frank back so soon after Lickspittlegate………

:)

Let’s be frank I’d rather Forest and Everton stay up. If they come down that’s the top two places completely sewn up.

Easier to compete with Burnley and Luton in Champ.
My thoughts too.

Get them down IF we stay up at their expense.

But last thing we want is a club who are used to paying 80k+ per week on wages joining us down in the Championship.

If it’s 6 for three years then it should be 2 for another year . Same for Forest.
Or 6 if you breach, in which case Forest and Everton would both sit on 18.

Again, makes you annoyed we couldn’t take our chances at the weekend.

Being within 2 points will both of them still to play would have at least made it interesting.

The facts are… they were still found guilty of breaching the £105 million , 3 year loss. by nearly 20 million…. not a few pence! They were also still found guilty of persistently sending misleading information about their financials.
How you can conclude that deserves a 40% reduction of the points penalty is in no way just.
Everton are up again now for 2023 irregularities.
If found guilty they or anybody else for that matter should be getting an escalated points reduction.
Of course that is if Premier League are serious about changing financial behaviour for good?

If you get caught cheating, by using performance enhancing drugs for example, in the Olympics or in cycling, then you get banned. There is a sensible precautionary mechanism to establish the fact that you have cheated, but if you’re still guilty after this then you are out. No recourse for further appeal. Cheat if you want to, but be in no doubt of the penalty.
Money is the equivalent of a performance enhancing drug in top end football. Even putting aside the fact that the current FFP mechanism is a joke ( described very accurately by somebody on here as “survival of the richest”), the PL make no sensible effort to apply a proportionate punishment. The rules should be clear, and if they are proven to have been broken ( including a sensible appeal process to avoid miscarriages of justice) then the club should be relegated by at least a division. It won’t sort out the mess that has been created, because the rules of the game remain biased towards the rich clubs, but it would at least eliminate the utter farce of making up completely disproportionate penalties for guilty parties as we go along, and opening the door wide open to allegations of potential for corruption in the event that final decisions are made after the on field season has finished ( which seems a likely eventuality this year).

What Everton's points deduction part reversal does do is kinda show just how bad we have been doing along with Burnley and that Lutons relative achievements still leave them 4 points off safety.

Now if Forest get a deduction that would obv. change matters.

There is a massive difference between squeaky clean and corrupt. Businesses at the top play the rules, but to suggest corruption is unfair for most.

The loss for their previous was £40 odd million and got a 6 pointer….surely being a further breach by an even greater amount this should see a further even larger deduction?
Got to be another 6 minimum you’d think, and they surely have little argument against a bigger deduction into double digits!

Won’t matter to us though….we are gone regardless as do t see us overtaking Luton and Burnley.

If we finish above Burnley ill be happy. Beat em at Lane.

What sort of deterrence is that.

There are 4 Sanctioning principles...even if you think double punishment well Idk...

*Vindicate- How does it vindicate compliant clubs?
Deter- Barely, maybe in conjunction with an EFL type Business Plan It may have.
*Uphold Confidence in the League- Ha that's the biggest joke of all with these random numbers.

Surely a second breach and a rise in the Upper Loss limit breach should constitute an Aggravating Factor. ie another point or 2 at least.

The EFL were always quite minded to appeal Verdicts they didn't bot like albeit not so much of late..should the PL appeal this one especially?

Ideally I'm all for significant FFP Sanctions but this one is a proper wrist slap.

Still think Burnley should sue Everton, they definitively lost out due to their Financial overspending. Finished 4 off Everton in 2021-22 and the verdict there was -6 post Appeal.
