all 3 goals have come from crosses with the forward finding a gap between our defenders

thats what £15-20m gets you

we need to tighten up in defence, go and get a £15-20m forward ourselves and I think well be ok

when traore, Souza, hamer and Davies are at 100%, add a goal scorer and tighter defence we‘ll be ok

I disagree with this. Egan plays international football, he should know just what he is coming up against.

As for Mark Hudson, it's a tough gig for him. A new defensive coach in one of the best attacking leagues in world football. Also he has mainly operated a champ level previously, it will be a learning curve for him as well.

I can’t disagree with your disagree, and yes he should

But he’s spent 2 yrs in Champ, his last 2 ROI games were against Greece & Gibraltar - not giving him the exposure to elite forwards

My concern, is that he’s top end champ level, its in hope that they add that 5-10% to step it up

Right now after 2 games in the prem, our best CB has been JLT - who’d have thought it
 
i would like to see anel as the centre of the 3 hes definetly better than egan there question is what do we do about rcb do we try egan there or maybe baldock there when hes fit again and bring bogle in at rwb i actually agree with an earlier poster who said 2 centre backs might have a better understanding than 3 at the back but that aint gonna happen under hecky

Probably agree with the last statement and it looks like Anel is also going to need time to adjust?

"he's top end champ level" That is the problem with a few at present. Lowe has got promoted twice over the last two seasons, but looks way off it at this level.
 
Anel is not the same since is mate left illy , illys fucked the club up completely, it’s a pity we didn’t hang on for a draw would have done the team a world of good .
 



You can't coach individual errors in heat of a game against top opponents. Bash was dreadful today and Anel made a poor clearance but apart from that we looked good at back defending against that onslaught
 
People saying we looked better without Egan. Whilst witnessing basham run around like a headless chicken is amusing.

Shouldn't be anywhere near the first xi.

He’s not been at the level all season.

He decided to play for Ireland whilst injured. It’s him who has now put his own place in jeopardy.

Yes agreed Champs ! Club captain plays for Ireland despite risking his fitness to play Sat,we know where we stand with Egan and I reckon the club ( Hecki) will be disappointed. He can be replaced ,really annoying this as it left Hecki with a difficult job to reshuffle the back line going into a big game against an high scoring team.Basham is not the player he was and has always been bullied by strong forwards ! Richardson just used his strength to get away from him ! Say no more.Im not directly critical of Bash who always gives it his best shot.
We need a club captain who puts his club first.
 
Silly decision by Egan to play for Ireland if he wasn't 100% fit. As others have said, he can be a proud Irishman but he needs to ensure that he puts his club first as we pay his wages. The club is his bread and butter not playing for Ireland. PH should be reminding him of this next week.
 
Egan is a weak link.
Unfortunately, at this stage Bash is a weaker one.

I do agree. But at the same time I think Anel looks great in the middle of a 3.

I assume we will go back to the 'normal' back 3 once Egan is fit - rightly so. Bash is undoubtedly a weak link at the moment and Egan has been nothing but dependable for years barring the odd hiccup. No-brainer for me.

Would like to see a bit more of Trusty but Robbo has arguably been our best performer so far this season.
 
Might make 4 at the back the hill I choose to die on.

I have no idea why would continue to show horn lesser defenders into a line up and leave out better midfielders and we’ve brought in an actual defensive midfielder. The switch is inevitable and will come
