Archer should be a target this summer for sure, but if Boro go up then he'll no doubt rather join them as he'll know their squad and manager and will feel a part of the club from the loan spell. But he looks a decent player for sure.

I'd sign him but as Mouth pointed out earlier there's no way I'd have him as one of our 2 loans allowed from premier league teams

Why not? He’s played better this season than McAtee and the majority of people seem to want him back on loan next year.

It's a shame we didn't get him in January because then he'd have been almost guaranteed to be here next season

Archer's done well for Boro and looks a cracking prospect, but do we really want to blow 20m+ on him? I don't know what Brewster's injury status/progress is, but honestly if he can get over it then I think we already have our own Archer already paid for (partly paid for but you get what I mean!) I'd much rather just put the 20m in Iliman's back pocket for him to sign a new deal with us

This one should be near the top of the rumour mill, rather than Akpom. We need a willing, pacey, runner.
Archer can finish too.

Ideally they'd be our player, but where would that cheap player appear from magically?

we could do a lot worse than sign archer on loan and pukki on a free this summer those 2 would do for me

Would be shocked if he moved to any championship club now

But maybe any interest from Stoke indicates a level of availability we should exploit

Can't see Villa letting him go, I don't know much about their squad but I'd say he's worth a place in it based on last season's form. If we're looking to sign a forward from Villa we should go for Mungo Bridge because he's got a funny name.

Especially if he was quite a pleasant lad, because that would be a case of Merry Mungo (and) Bridge. For all you older viewers out there.

Villa apparently not letting him go until Jan at the earliest - counts as a home grown player and squad depth will be needed having qualified for European games.

I'd be amazed if he went to Stoke - less chance than Egan going there.

This is one I'd find incredibly uninspiring if any loan move was to happen

Stoke City have enquired about Aston Villa striker Cameron Archer.

If they have any incline that he's available for loan then we should be all over it. I know it's not a position we're desperate for right now, but when it comes to hitting teams on the break there's nobody I've seen that's better.

yeah villa need him as a home grown player now there in europe and dont think they will loan him to a championship club again hes done that at boro would love him at lane though maybe a chance in january

Out of interest, why is that?

I thought it would be a great loan, but each to their own.

If we're loaning a striker, I'd prefer to loan someone who's a lot more experienced and at least semi-proven at the PL level. Will cost more in wages but give you more certainty. If I want to play a striker who's noted for limited success at Championship level and his involvement in the England U21 etc setup, then in case you hadn't noticed we have one of those already

IMO it's a redundant argument as Villa won't be letting him out but you can't seriously be comparing Archer to Jebbison (much as I think Jebbo could have a breakthrough season it will be noting like what Archer can do).

Everytime I saw him play for Boro he scored or always looked like scoring.

Along with Akpom he's had his day in the sun in a massively overperforming Boro squad. Weynt pull up any trees this season. Its a no from me.

No, I was thinking more of Brewster actually
