Apparently Rangers after him as quoted by their manager:

Gers' boss Michael Beale spoke earlier this year of his admiration for the midfielder and confirmed they had been in talks, saying: Tom Davies, he used to kick my Liverpool Under 23s team all around the place. There’s a bit of John Lundstram about him."

Stay clear if he's like Lundstram!
Surely Beale can't be saying that in a serious way - don't Rangers hate Lundstram now too?

His uncle thought he was going to sign for us in 1976 and appeared in the below photo but a few days later the transfer got cancelled because he failed the medical

Great photo that Silent! I recognise a few of them but not as many as a couple of years earlier when Currie was there. I'm gonna guess this was 1977-78 time? Jimmy Johnstone bottom right I think? I recognise about 7 of them.

I don't know for certain but just think Lundstram has dipped a little but he still wants to be there to the best of my knowledge unless he wants more football, but he still plays regularly for them. Whereas with us he just wanted to move presumably for more money/to a bugger club and then gave about 70% effort in his last season as we all know!

Summer 1976. Yes, Jinky Johnstone seated right

Used to think he had a bit about him when he first broke through. Not seen much of him in the past couple years but a quick search shows a knee injury kept him out for most of 21/22 and then he only started 4 times last year.

Not often you see homegrown players of that age with solid premier league experience going for free so I'd be amazed if we weren't interested. He should definitely back himself to get into our side and we do like giving players the chance to prove themselves.

It's a slight worry that he's not been getting into a really poor Everton team but he's got talent and I think he'd be a useful addition

Garner, Franks, Eddie Cal, Brown, Conroy, Stainrod, Flynn, ?,
Whittle, Ludlam ?, Hamilton, Guthrie, Woody, Kenworthy, Varadi, Bradford, Johnstone.
Don't think I'm far off there.

I agree with nearly all of this, except the end!

I'm not actually convinced he's good enough or consistent enough - but would fully trust Hecky with him if signed.

Anyhoo - I'd guess he gets paid more than anyone in our squad currently, so for that reason alone, it feels more likely he'll go to Saudi or Rangers 😄

He is a fit for the RCM position

Also a fit for a psychiatric ward looking at his dress sense

If he scored goals I'd be tempted. But he doesn't

Never rated him. When he's actually been on the pitch for Everton I've never really seen him affect the game in a positive way for them by doing something useful i.e. Goals or assists. Not a dreadful player but a bit of a nothing player imo who will no doubt want a fairly large financial package to fund his wardrobe. There is a reason Everton are prepared to let him go for nothing. No thanks.

I got tickets to an Everton game against Burnley. It was a fair few years ago. It was incidentally the game after Barkley was punched in the eye at a bar a few days previous. Anyway, all this hype on Barkley, I thought Davies (who was 18) was an absolutely supreme player. Skill, passing ability. Absolutely outshone Barkley. Barkley scored in the second half and took the plaudits, but I generally turned to my mate and said that grebo looking lad is absolutely fantastic.

Everton fans now couldn't wait to get rid. Not sure what the fuck happened, although I did see him in 2019 with his pals on a Thursday night in the Ivy in Manchester giving it the large one. He looked like a skinny little rat in shite clothes.

Everton has been toxic for the last few seasons. Not the only player who has bombed out there.

I’ve not seen him play but we desperately need something in midfield. Plenty of PL experience at a cheap price, worth considering.
