Positives about drawin city

I like the fact that it’s a free hit and the day can be enjoyed without knowing that we’re not blowing a great chance and a lot of money.

My son at 10 years old gets a day at Wembley and hopefully gets to see Haaland have an ineffective game.

Pep might come up with a weird formation(as he occasionally does) to try and bamboozle us. Sometimes he gets it wrong and it's city who appear bamboozled. That's what I'm hoping for anyway

I don’t give a fuck .. you don’t go in at the 3rd round expecting to win it do you .. just won a cracking QF &!if we dip as I expect I’ll still back my team to the hilt ⚔️.. isn’t that what the cups all about ?? Enjoy it come what may .. I never thought I’d see us play in 5 FA Cup SF & 2 LC SF.. not a bad record for a Championship side ⚔️

I thought that. Also they will both be eligible to play in the final should we make it.

Admittedly they are a huge loss, but we can take heart from the entire team performance today.
Will they still be with us in June?
I hope so.

I really hope United fans horde the balloons until the game. Don't let them all off pre-match. Let's set an arbitrary time of say the 12th minute to let them off.

You know as in the 12th man.

Hopefully by that time City haven't already knocked a few past us...

It probably would be like us to beat city and then end up losing to Brighton in the final by something daft like 8-0 (4 of which are own goals).

City will believe they are already through before a ball is even kicked little knowing that we will unleash our pigeons and squadron leader Fleck upon them.

Doyle and McAtee will be nice and fresh for the league games
This is also a decent outcome of this draw.

It’s harsh on those players but a potential positive for the league campaign.

Obviously it will be super-knackering with all the adrenaline and especially for those in midfield.

Having missed out they will be extra determined to make their mark on the season.

Having two players fit in the engine room and raring to go removes a managerial headache and forces us to rotate the squad effectively. We just need to find one more body in there.

We still have options hopefully by then to rotate at full back and you’d like to think we still can pick a fresh central defence with 3 from Anel, Bash, Egan, Clark and Robbo.

Up front one of Jebbo, Ndiaye and McBurnie will possibly miss out as a starter at Wembley so they should be relatively fresh.

Might be the best thing for the league though a midfield of Norwood, Fleck and Berge as a trio is past its best.

I don’t expect us to win at all. So it’s a free day really. If we’d drawn anyone else we might have fancied our chances and been even more disappointed at the loss.

We lose to Brighton / Man Utd with false optimism or we have a go vs City and hope for the best.

I doubt we’re going to win it so let’s enjoy it. A big Wembley pitch + Haaland does worry me slightly

Positives?

We don’t have to play Doyle and McAtee, we can play Fleck and Norwood instead!

Wembley will be half empty, as the little Mancs will saving their brass for when they play the big Mancs in the final…They think. 😉

4 out of 4 ain't it? According to what I'm reading on h2h

Correct. The Blades and City have been drawn together four times.

The Blades won 4-1 in 1905/06, 2-0 in 1938/39, and 2-1 in 2007/08, all those games being at Bramall Lane.

In 1913/14, there were goalless draws at Hyde Road and Bramall Lane, before the Blades won by the only goal in the second replay at Villa Park.

So the Blades are unbeaten in 6 FA Cup matches against City, with 2 draws and the other 4 won, and 9 goals scored against 2 conceded.

Anything barring total humiliation will be a bonus.
I went 3 times to Wembley with my dad, lost every time but made memories I will never forget.
Its a Blades thing.

The look on my son and daughters faces yesterday at the full time whistle when they realised where we're going was worth it.

A lot of us have already seen these matches, been disappointed and have the scars. Can't wait for the match myself and to take them.

Thankfully looks like the match will be on the Saturday , as i will be down there already , watching our daughter run the London Marathon on the Sunday !!

Our deep undercover Blade, Agent Walker, will see us through. Sssh! 🕵️‍♂️
