i am delighted with this , if the news is accurate. Part of me always felt that the only reason the vultures were circling was because of the news of the embargo. The people at the club that said the release clause is still active deserve great credit in my view. for what its worth

We are in the middle of a takeover. Looks like the EFL understands our reasons.

Maybe the club got too close to the point where it would be unlikely we would be able to find suitable replacements, and so the outgoing owner and new owner made a decision to not listen to further offers because the value of the player increased massively in comparison to our ability to earn promotion. even a massive bid would not make up for the potential loss of funds if we lose players and don't get promoted
