And we sell another of the crown jewels.

But dont worry. We will bring in some Quality loans like last season with Hill & that Bolton winger who couldnt hit a barn door.

Have faith Kev. We'll be reet come start of the season.
I know it seems like we're lagging behind in the transfer market at present, but, i have every faith in DW.
Keep smiling pal. :)

no way we could turn down 3m for a player who didnt want to stay. he is good, but hes a right back. theyre replaceable, particularly when u need 2 strikers and a creative midfielder player and cant afford to buy them. il miss Lowton but its the right move.

What a shambolic excuse for a football club, seriously, this club doesn't deserve anything like the support that it gets. We're known as the unluckiest club in football aren't we? Well we're certainly the unluckiest fans, saddled with that waste of space at the helm and destined now for years in the wilderness.

Best set of supporters bar none Blades, the amount of shite we've had to endure and still there's more diehard Blades than probably any other club. Pity the chairman isn't one of them the fucking joker, about time he upped sticks and fucked off to his mansion in Portugal because he's doing nothing for us bar watch us implode in front of him.

We had about 3 decent players.....now we're down to 2.....and soon it won't even be that but don't worry, we have Danny Wilson, he's a lovely bloke and he'll make sure we're alright bless hime

Some are but they are getting fewer each season leaving the club with a set of fans who really are no marks happy to accept mediocrity and eat any shit McCabe feeds them like it and go back for more. Nothing will change until the fans force that change. This club needs a fans group like at other clubs where they have been lied to and cheated (even the swine at s6 had one) Time to stand up and be counted and let the Brussels tax dodger know SUFC is not a train set to bet thrown in a cupboard when he gets bored of it but to many part of the community and a way of life. The thing is after 90 years of never winning owt and 45 years of selling off any talent failure has become ingrained in the culture at Bramall Lane, little wonder we never win a semi final and always lose the play off finals without even scoring a goal. The best bit comes when those happy to accept that failure blame it on any fan who should dare to complain and question the allegiance of anyone with a so called "negative view" of the club.

Of course for every club that wins a trophy there are 91 that don't to which the happy clappers constantly remind us miserable negative Blades, but also half of them never will they simply don't have the support or resources. Of the other half their supporters can at the very least expect if not a trophy win an appearance in a cup final in their lifetime, not so us Blades. Some deserve so much better, the majority of Blades now deserve nothing because that is what they expect and are happy to accept.

Last post is bowlocks if you don't mind me saying so, metalblade.

We have no money

The reason we haven't gone into admin is because McCabe, yes he has made errors of judgement, has kept us afloat and because he wouldn't benefit anyway if we did go into admin
Our players have careers to get on with and if they get a chance to play in the top flight on top flight money with 4 years of top flight money guaranteed they're going to take it, Blades fans as lads or not

McCabe has chosen a couple of bad managers but McCabe doesn't pick the team nor does he play on the park.

The fans cannot force any change at the top of the club and what's more should not other wise we might just find ourselves as the Football League newco

If you don't like it, either lump it or walk away

Aye you're right... The "Die Hards" simply stop going and the only ones who still do are the "no marks"

as much as i respect your right to an opinion, i find it impossible to agree with u Metal. im not sure what u are trying to achieve with this call to arms. McCabe out? he wants out! he's put everything into United for years, particularly the last few and its cost him a fortune. its not as if he wants us to get relegated is it? yes we've made some shocking mistakes and appointing Robson was the worst and most damaging.

Lowton is a saleable asset. he's 23 and he wants to leave. hes only got 2 yrs left and its the time of his career to press on, not spend another yr in league 1. it would be totally unfair of United to stand in his way. we cant provide the platform for his career. why shud he stay? would u? would anyone? its a chance to play premier league football! so for us to get 3m for him is remarkable. i too will be watching carefully what we do with said 3m. but he's a right back, hes not irreplaceable and this money will bail us out a bit and allow us to actually sign some strikers. its a great piece of business for the club, im shocked we got more than 1m for him.

and the reason we didnt score in the playoff final is because we didnt go for it. we bottled it and played 4-5-1. we didnt have enough fit strikers. i dont see how thats McCabe's fault.

good luck to matty,he`s a new father and has a future to think about, signing a four deal at villa is a fantastic catalyst for his carrer and future,i think 3m is very good buisness and far to good an offer for a 3RD division team to turn down-we can buy 15 players with that!

A few years ago McCabe was quite popular amongst the fans. I stll remember his rallying speech on the pitch after we got a promoted to the Prem (what a load of shite that turned out to be). But after years of shocking decisions, wasting money on ludicrous ventures, broken promises, selling all our good players, no ambition, poor communication and, now, a total lack of interest in the club he claims to love, the balance of opinion is well and truly against him.

For a club of our size to yet again be in such a mess is unbelievable. If, as I fear, we struggle next season I think the fans ire will rightly be directed at McCabe. If, as some say, he wants out then the only way that is going to happen is if he writes off some of the debt he helped create and puts the club up for sale. I'm sure if the debt was reduced there would be plenty of interest. Clearly making sure we get the right buyer would be crucial but it's getting to the point where anything has got to be better than this mess.

Personal abuse is against the rules of the forum.
And some nob ends think they are so much better than the majority and beat the club with every stick they can possibly find... yawn ....Sitwell ,happy clapping no mark.

and full weight bell end fuck off with yer one line pearls of wisdom

May I take this opportunity to remind that personal abuse of members is against the rules of the forum. Should you wish to have a slanging match, there are places better suited.

like the bike sheds at four..
our club is a bloody shambles, let's face it. we've signed plonker after plonker.. we are still stuck with monty on rooneyesque wages ffs.. we'll just have to wait it out until all of blackwells poison chalice signings move on.. we won't win anything whilst we retain the likes of monty and quinn.. they simply aren't good enough

I would say Quinn is good enough. Didnt he have the highest assist score in League 1 last season?
Lowton also provided a few. So by that logic if we got rid of quinn as well, were would that leave the team for assists?

Totally agree regarding Quinny. Unfortunately there seems to be an element of ,lets knock Quinny no matter what, at the Lane. I'm often astounded at some of the moronic comments directed at him during matches and left wondering if I'm watching the same player ( most assists, PFA selected etc) as some of these sages of soccer.

I remember when I used to stand on John Street a one John Gannon ( how apt!) being subject to the same treatment week in week out by the same bloke, who obviously spent most Saturday afternoons in the Sportsman or wherever, and had just decided that Gannon was to be the subject of his wrath as soon as he touched the ball. He was close to having a cardiac at times , with veins bulging from his neck, kin Gannon this and kin Gannon that. Laughable when I think back really. Quinny could play like Messi and still get hammered , yet players that actually do play Messi dont get threads started about em.

So we're stuck with him because he won't cut his losses and walk away? I'd hazard a guess that his personal fortune wouldn't be that badly affected should he do that but no, he's a massive Blade so he'd rather continue with this strange strategy of taking us to a place where it will take years to recover from, maybe a place where we'll wither and die but no worries, in Kev we trust.....or at least some of us still do

Or maybe fuck off to S6? We care too much to walk away, it's in our blood, and all the negativity is because we're totally pissed at where we are and why we're here. It's not about a few thousand of us walking away, it's about someone who has the whereabouts to do something but who's doing nothing walking away . We're dying here, for goodness sake Mr McCabe, do something about it.

If KM walked away and wrote off his debt, who in their right mind take over a 3rd tier football club knowing that,in all likelihood, that he or she would incur a loss on their investment in future years. We have a Blade in charge at the moment who has mismanaged us,but would an astute businessman gamble on us or decide to run us a a shoestring ?

Based on the probability that KM is staying,I haven't seen many ideas on here about what he should do. We all know what a mess he has made in the past but what people on here expect the strategy to be that is within a 3rd tier budget ?

I wouldn't condemn anybody to that "pleasure"...

We are currently living beyond our means unfortunately and that's a point that quite a few posters either don't understand or choose to ignore.

Regardless of who is to blame, there's no way KM can walk away without we go down the pan and if there are no investors willing to plunge money into a cash vacuum, then the club is doing the football equivalent of the "Danse Macabre"

Set one up then for fuck's sake.

funny.. i always rated Gannon.. people seemed to forget that if it wasn't for his superb delivery Deane and Agana wouldn't have scored.. if quinn was half as good as John Gannon then i wouldn't be complaining.. at least Gannon could stay on his feet and kick a ball properly

Yeah you're right I forgot Quinny can't set goals up he's bobbar. Load of codswallop that most assists thingy. He can't possibly lay on goals if he's turtling about on the floor all the time like you say can he? orrrrrrrrrrrr is it that you are laid on your side so he looks like hes fallen over when hes actually still stood up? Strange how we all view things differently.

For starters, and this would go a long way to solving our problems at united, is for KM to start running United like his main property business. There would be no way KM would make the same number of mistakes, there would be no way he would hire inadequate staff / players on inflated wages, there would be no way he would hire someone who had no interest in the job or someone one who had a poor CV. Until he realises this, nothing is going to changed. It's prob down to KM having to answer to shareholders in his business whereas at United, he doesn't have to answer to any one.

But hey, what do I know

Nail hit on the head there pal, always dangerous to have a dictator running things lets get back to a proper boardroom where no one man has a majority only then will things be done in the interests of Sheffield United, rather than us being used as some guys toy to be discarded when times are bad or as an ego trip when things are good.

I too liked John Gannon. He was always in the thick of things, not afraid to put his foot in and he never went absent in spite of the boo boys. Many of his passes may have been sideways but the majority of them went to a red amd white shirt, or is my memory plating tricks?
