Oops, I forget that King Billy is free from criticism. I did say aside from the goal but I guess that’s irrelevant.

You all have such faith in our team that had he not scored we’d have finished 0-0, as no one else can score right?
no he’s not free from criticism at all but a Blade fan pulling him down when he had scored a winner is strange to me ?

I voiced an opinion on a public forum. It was the wrong opinion.

I can no longer call myself a fan in some peoples eyes.
When I saw that Sharp was starting I shuddered. I'm over the moon that he's off the mark but I don't hold much confidence in him anymore which is a shame, he's my favourite Blade bar none and by quite a distance.

No you voiced an opinion on a Sheffield United forum about one of there leading all time scores and now moaning about people disagree with you , what do you expect.

Don't worry, there's plenty on here who despise Billy Sharp.

You can all be wrong together.

Constructive criticism would imply there’s something to build upon, in this game (which I was referring to) he did nothing ASIDE from the goal.

I’ve not criticised / reviewed his contribution for every single game he’s played for us in that review, but because my opinion is not a happy clapper Billy can do no wrong review, I’m a negative moan moan moan fan.

The reality is with some fans Billy can do no wrong, yet if you took his performance and put it on someone else, a Brewster or Berge or Khadra say, you would be ripping them to pieces.

Billy plays poorly = It’s fine
Someone else plays poorly = They’re shit / worst signing ever / get rid etc

Considering the statements of the crowd around me when Billy got outpaced or lost the ball or didn’t pass implies that I’m not alone in my review (to reiterate - in yesterday’s game for context).
Agree:
well taken goal as we’ve come to expect but many (most) other aspects of his performance yesterday weren’t his (previous) ‘usual’ standard
I didn’t see much harrying / tracking back, control & ‘vision’ / decision making was poor & running(wide) / crossing none existent ( one obviously begats the other)
Equally need to recognise that he was in essence playing as a ‘ lone’ striker
Remains outstanding in ‘interactions’ with occupants of the Bramall Lane lower !

I never said I despise Billy Sharp, I like him and always have done. I stated he was poor yesterday bar the goal.

If you’re going to imply someone is wrong about something, it helps your cause to at least be right about the thing you think they’re wrong about.

Does the goal tonight take him past Hagan? I know there is another thread but it isn't up to date and my maths is shite

Billy can slept with my wife far as I'm concerned, even tuck him in. Just hope he as not seen her beforehand bless her 😏😏😏

How the fuck can anybody despise Billy?
I think alot of people hate Sharp but those people should never claim to be a Blade. I've long said I love having him on the team but I'd fucking hate him if he was playing against us.

Sadly though he is slowing down. A prime Billy would have bagged many more out there tonight and you can see he does a bit more shithousery now to counter it. I do personally think he should consider this to he his last season but make no mistake the lads a Blades legend and will leave quite the legacy.

I'd hate for him to force himself to keep playing and find fans starting to resent him for not keeping it. What's the phrase, something about leaving a hero rather than staying and becoming the villain? Something like that. I'd love for him to stay with the club though. His experience would be wonderful for the youth.

He’s doing everything we could ask of him. He’s now the wily veteran. A good player adapts as they get older and he has. Two in two while (and he’d admit it) we rehabilitate our main striker, Ollie, to play with our other main striker Illie.

He’s been the crucial difference.
