Hecky has done well for us this season so far, I know some fans are doubting him due to our recent results which is wrong but you could argue we have actually “over performed” this season to be honest. In truth, if we said after 12 games we would be 1st in the league, you’d be very surprised. I think we just need to leave him to it. Injuries have been a massive problem for us too. Nobody can complain at the start we’ve had. If we can stay in the play-offs before the World Cup, I’m a happy man. UTB ⚔️ ⚔️⚔️.

I thought his in game management was again terrible and is a real weakness of his
We were dominating midfield with Fleck playing well, the change to lose a player in midfield & have another up top completely confused me.

Then Mcbunie was dead on his feet & we left him on with game already won?

We started the game very well & that’s what won us the game

Stupid sub. He would have been better moving Ozzy to Fleck's role and bringing Enda on at LWB.

Ozzy is meant to be cover for Fleck.

Very confusing changes indeed, we was dominating the game up until then, then it all went a bit mish mash no real shape.

Maybe he wasn’t convinced Stevens could play for that long without taking a risk. If he’d brought Stevens on and he’d got an injury, he’d have been criticised for that instead. We’ve just won a game without ever really being in much trouble and posters can’t wait to jump on Hecky again with nitpicking.

He didn't even need to bring Brewster on.

I assume the other subs of Bash and Baldock were just to save them for Tuesday.
Were you watching the same game when the ball wasn't sticking upfront and kept coming back? Fleck needed to go off as coming back from injury. He put Brewster on to stretch their defence and we looked better.

We starte
We were not dominating midfield. The ball was coming straight back at us. Fleck is clearly coming back from injury and we need him for midweek. That's an obvious planned change and who Ndiaye is a better CM option than Khadra or McAtee.

Did you notice McBurnie winning all the header from their corners? What happens when you take McBurnie off?
d the game very well & that’s what won us the game

The ball still wasn't sticking upfront. We were under the cosh for last 20 minutes.

Absolute tosh we weren't better in fact were a lot worse conceding midfield

A good win for us 3 points on the road was a big boost to our players. They had more possession, more shots on target more shots at goal still couldn't buy a goal. They deserve their place, rock bottom of the league.

I think he was onto a loser making changes because the team's fluency would drop but I do agree it was right to rest a few, though as was mentioned I'd rather have out Ozzy in midfield and Stevens on for Fleck.

The last 5-10 mins mcburnie couldn’t move.

Even the commentary team were saying how in control we were in midfield. I think Osborn moving into midfield would have made more sense. Same energy as fleck.

We struggled the last 20 minutes of the game and it’s when we changed formation.

Again very strange inept substitutions that weakened us

You're right, but he could still defend corners. That was the issue. That and the fact we'd used both strikers. I think if Brewster stays on, Sharp comes on for McBurnie. We're just short in several positions so any changes are great.

My main issue with Hecky has been the away performances we did well today happy with the win I just feel a better team would have punished us today. I appreciate the injuries but today showed get at teams let them worry about us, sometimes we sit back and we are much better on the front foot

Good win today UTB

Fully agree and go as far as to say if WBA's new manager don't get them more co-ordinated they may well get relegated, poor side, what does anyone expect when they have recently been run byb.png

Simple fact is the results since he came in have been unbelievable. For all the issues we'd have walked through this recent spell of games with anything like a fit side. It was comfortable today even with some big players out and yet again another injury mid-game. Of the players he brought in this Summer, Anel is an absolutely superb signing and Doyle is looking class, Khadra and McAtee have clear promise.

I still have doubts about Heckingbottom but in my opinion he keeps answering every criticism with performances on the pitch. Maybe that's down to the sheer strength of the squad he's got at his hands, I don't know, but it's keeping me happy enough with him for now.

In town for a few beers later I'm sure

fleck was awful - awful

Unfortunately a lot of the fan base has completely given up on Fleck so now view him this way despite how he plays. He absolutely wasn’t awful, 6/10 for me & gave us balance.
I haven’t given up on him

He was poor imo

Others had to put their foot in for him - imo he looked bewildered - I thought he increased the job of Norwood and Doyle by an extra 25% at least - which detected from their effectiveness

There were times in the 2nd half when Doyle was closing down the WBA defenders and back line midfielders , as he was bypassed he turned expecting some cover from Fleck but there wasn’t any so the WBA midfield could carry the ball an extra 25 yards unopposed and walked through us until they got 5 yards from the edge of our box

Fleck was rubbish - imo
