Time's up Billy

And to be fair that demonstrates the problem we currently have. From the starting line up today, Baldock, Basham, Osborn McAtee and Sharp would all be on the bench if all of the others were back from injury and/or not carrying knocks. That’s half of the current starting 11 (or outfield 10, I should say)

7 More games I think to get through (including Norwich and Burnley!) and then we get the World Cup break after which we may have a few more back from injury such as Berge and Bogle. Might just work in our favour.

Sharps time has been up for a good couple of years

He scored 10 last season because he knows where the space is and can smell a goal but bar that he offers zilch

We should have blooded players like Jebbison/Brewster/Mcburnie but have stuck with sharp

Now those players look a shadow of what they could have been and lost 2 years development because of the persistence with sharp even the last 3/4 games hecky would rather play sharp ahead of Brewster/Jebbinson

As I have been saying for the last couple of seasons he has held the young forwards back not helped them

Billys not done yet ,

🤣 🤣 🤣

Every season its the same Fleck , Norwood , Sharp all get slagged off when the first start , then every season after 3 ish games and they are up to speed its Fleck , Norwood , Sharp were brill today .

They take time to get going every season , some of our fans need to get a grip , yes Bills coming to the end of his career , but i wish he was on today for the pen !!

You talk the most bollox I have ever heard or read absolute drivvle

Not sure Sharp did that much wrong he played it back across goal for McAtee to bundle home.

Basham on the other hand looks awful and has done for a while.

Yeah I agree. Didnt he get a new contract pre season as well? Seems a bizarre decision in hindsight.

Agree completely. Starting to be concerned about Egan too.

The Egan - Basham combination has been at fault a hell of a lot over the last season or 2

Mainly failure to deal with crosses, and individual errors (mainly from Egan)
Genuinely can’t remember the last good game Egan had. Accident waiting to happen.

Didn't think Sharp was that bad BUT thought we looked miles better in attack when Brewster and McBurnie came on.

He wasn't bad at all.....he was fucking wank.....pace of a snail, kept falling over and was the main reason the ball kept coming back because he couldn't hold it up or run the channels.

Legend he is, like Bash, but bench at most for both for the rest of the season.

If only we could bring Sharp on for 15-20 mins each half it would be perfect.. but alas we can't , as such he has to be a late game sub when needing a goal.

Sharps game is to be in the right place at the right time to score goals
To fall over in a convincing fashion to get free kicks
To hold the ball up and bring others into play

Yesterday was his first back and his lack of game time clearly showed but he did have the wherewithal to set up the first goal

Fifth or Sixth season on the bounce ?

I frankly lose count 😂.

It is now, beyond any doubt, that a very high percentage of our fan base knows Jack Shyte about what goes on out there on that green stuff !

He isn’t good enough and he wasn’t last year

He scored ten goals but offered barely anything else and missed plenty of sitters

But you cant say that because he’s our bill

The exact same reason hecky started him yesterday , no he should be playing on merit not because he is blades legend

If that’s the case get Michael brown and Brian dean out of retirement

I think on for the last 10mins when defenders are knackered is about it for Sharp. Sure he has the know how to find space in the box but he did look painfully slow yesterday defenders can give him a yard start and still get to the ball before him.

Offered more last season then than mcburnie and brewster have in 3

I’m not sure Sharp was the problem today, but dropping Brewster for him after he’s scored his first goal of the season was baffling

Again you’re missing my point

Because the managers have refused to give them a run in the team

Billy is a good player but he isn’t the future mcburnie/Brewster/jebbinson are or were and now probably won’t because they haven’t had a proper chance

Never write him off. Still think he has worth. Perhaps not starting as much now but still good to have.

Wouldn't be surprised if he started again on Weds.

Ridiculous to consider Billy as finished. He has never relied on pace and it is not like he has been missing bag-fulls of chances.

First ten minutes of that game and Sharp's set up the offside goal, which was a couple of yards off but good movement, and then completely lost his marker to nod it down for the first goal. He's another player coming back from injury.

Sharp having an otherwise quiet, even poor, game is nothing to be surprised about. Point is even when he has a poor game he still pops up in the box at some point when you need him. He's not first choice if everyone else is fit. Got it. But I'm not going to complain about having a player like him available when needed.
