If the unthinkable happens and we slip into the play off positions and have to play at wembley again, how many would actually go ? I don't think I could bare it again , only went last time because my young brother wanted to go and although I was impressed with the stadium , the atmosphere before hand was simillar to attending a funeral with not one single blade I met confident we would win

Probably wasn't as painful as other play off /semi final losses but the inevitability of it all was the hardest part to take

I don't think I could bare it... But I guess I would go still, but make more of a weekend of it like I did v burnley.

You're right though, the atmosphere was crap last time. I never have like wembley, but the new wembley just doesn't feel right.

You know it's going to be blades v pigs though

I'll be there, like I was for Burnley, like I was for the FA Cup semi-final v pigs, like I was for Crystal Palace and the Millenium Stadium v Wolves and inevitably with the same outcome.
Still better to have travelled in hope than not to have travelled at all?

As above, I couldn't bear another defeat but it would be the best way to go up so there's always that one chance that we might actually do it. As my missus says though your fans are beaten before you get there.

I've been saying for months that a Sheffield derby final was inevitable but at the moment, if we were to slip up, it could be them who take advantage. Jeez, imagine losing to Notts County or Stevenage at Wembley !

I would hope that as a group of supporter we would be better than last time. I think it was our darkest hour (and half). We were disjointed and gave the players little support. I came away feeling disgusted on how much pressure we put on our team. I was more disappointed in our fans than the team. I would still go and want so much more from us all to banish the bad feeling of last time.

I said last time, I'm not going to another play-off final. The Burnley final was the last for me. If we win great, but I can't bare to go through it if we lose.

No.............

Keep telling Kenilworth Jnr that I don't fancy yet another POF and the innevitable defeat, especially if it's the pigs.
He quite rightly points out that I wouldn't be able to "not go" but it's a major trousers down for the day and not at all enjoyable.

Hate travelling to Wembley, hate the area, don't like the stadium - looks like a block of offices from the outside and has no character.
To say they spent £700 million on it the facilities for the "normal fans" are crap.
Over priced inside catering, over hyped before the game, no parking of any significance
No decent pubs - nowhere decent to eat , utterly shite place to get out of afterwards.

Much prefer Cardiff to Wembley.

Yep. Agree with every word of that.

Said I'd never go again. Might consider it if v any team other than pigs. If it was us v them, no way

Very fair comments Judgey and needs discussing. I think plenty would not bother going for all the reasons stated above - which for me is perfectly understandable. Can I face it again - don't think I can. Maybe if we are there in May there will be a unity amongst fans unlike the day we lined up with a cretinous manager and Craig Beattie up top.

Wendy wouldn't do well at Wembley with their lump on that big playing surface. A footballing team would have the advantage on that field and have the room to pick them apart.

Same as this ^^^^^

Like Baildon, and many others, I was at all these games, but I'll still be there again if we have to go through the playoffs. I don't get to see many games nowadays, and I couldn't live with myself if I stayed away and we actually won one.

It's better to have fought and lost than not have fought at all. ( or summat like that )

I've been to all the semis and play offs bar the Burnley game. I flew back from France to East Midlands airport landing 30 minutes into the match to receive a phone call that they were 1-0 down. It just seemed inevitable, just felt numb and resigned rather than angry

As I sit here I promise I'll never watch us at another Wembley POF as long as I live. But I - along with many others here I'm sure - know that when it comes around, I will be there... and full of hope too. Right until we concede the first.

And yes, I only went with the name "TarquinDelouche" because the name "BladeTooLong" was already taken.

I'd definitely go, couldn't not go!

If we lost, just hope I find some crazy drunk Irish bloke to buy my programme off me for 20 quid again, the only saving grace of that day against Burnley!

As much as I'd hate to go through the pain again, the thought of missing out on being there when we do change history would be too much to keep me at home.

We've got to win one sometime haven't we?

So it's our fault we lost? I was more disgusted with Blackwell having lost to Burnley twice employing the same tactics. Our fans are how we are cos of years of blowing the big occasion, I have no doubt whatsoever that if we got there we'd lose even if we had 50000 fans singing the Greasy Chip
Butty song for 90 minutes non stop.

Yes I'd go.

A good question which I have thought about before. I said I would not go after the Burnely debacle, but probably would. I would def stick £200 on opposition this team though to soften the blow.

As a blade, of course id go, if we had got to johnstone's paint trophy final id go, fuck me i'm so disappointed that any blade would even contemplate NOT going. imagine how you would feel if it was vs pigs and we thumped them 5-0, personally id feel worse missing something like that than losing to them and being there.
And for fans actually saying if we get there we will lose, jesus christ i cant believe it, when we played wolves every wolves fan i spoke to had that same attitude as we drank and walked up wembley way together BUT they were there and so should we ALL follow our team to any wembley visit against any team, as boo said we hardley supproted the blades the last time and as jim chimerney's missus said we were beat (as fans) before we even got inside the ground.
you dont want to go thats your choice, but surely as a blade thats a bad choice.

Imagine that it was the one that we actually won. In years to come you'd be able to tell the kids that you were mowing the lawn when your team needed you and when your mates experienced the day out of a lifetime. For those who went to Leicester, imagine you'd chosen not to go?

Whilst I understand the sentiment to a degree, in the end there's ony one decision you can make. Surely?

lets not forget when weve been in the play offs before weve met sides who have had pedigree , top division records , wolves palace and burnley all been top flight teams , in the pressure cooker of a 50 million pound game
wednesdays only ever play off was against the monkey hangers and their 8000 fans, and they had to cheat and dive to get a pen and a man sent off, was not a match between peers

If we get to play mk dons , notts county there wont be the same atmosphere
but a derby would create a game wendies or terriers
but none of this matters as we will get automatic

I could be wrong, but in all three finals I'm fairly sure plucky little Sheffield United had been in the top flight more recently than any of the Leviathans we faced.

but burnley and wolves have both won the league in my lifetime
Id say all 3 had similar calibre to us, obviously we are huge

to my knowledge hartlepool havent won the title

Munxers you are getting too old. It was Cardiff

Got an exam on the 28th so if we did go to wembley I'd have to skip it anyway

Why are we discussing the playoffs? AUTOMATIC is ours. I actually think we can and will catch Charlton

A couple of these would look pretty sweet and watching the lads lift an actual trophy at BDTBL would piss all over a day at that over priced space ship.
